Run for posting. Nice videos.

My chickens have learned how to open my porch door and come in where the feed is.lol

I love my chickens and dogs.

One of my roosters road in the back of the truck 19 miles to town with me a couple weeks ago. No BS. I pulled in at the feed store and heard a rooster and thought theyd gotten a mascot then I heard it again and looked in my rear view and a dang rooster was standing in the bed of my. Truck crowing like crazy.

Then a couple days later a gray hen hitched a ride..14 miles with me to work. I Went outside and it was pecking around in peggys yard.lol

Merry Christmas

Having chickens and dogs sure makes for some entertainment. Love that story Cathryn ....... glad I got a cap on my truck and low branches on the way off the property that would sweep any potential hitch hikers off the top grin

Had a friend who had a hen hitch a ride in the engine compartment about 20 miles to work, when they got there cut dropped down and proceeded to hunt around in the grass, took a bit to catch and pop into the back of the truck and close the cap

It’s always a good thing when the dogs and chickens get along, we had a mutt here that would follow the chickens around all day as they foraged keeping them all together and not letting any stray to far from the group, she let them go wherever they wanted just had to be as a group, when they came back to roust she would station herself at the door and wait for one of us to come close it for the night, if we let her she would sleep at the door till we opened it in the morning

Never lost a bird when she was on duty

She was a good old dog, miss her dearly

Great video , Michael . They love your German accent !

All my chooks were pets, for eggs too. They actually love their humans and love being pet and hugged , just as a dog . Some breeds are a little more flighty, but if they are raised from youngsters with care and gentleness, they love their "peeps" smile Yours are loving your company also .

My big roos loved riding in the passenger seat of my truck , and would stretch their necks to see out the windows . I had one rare breed roo, a Dorking, that I took to the the vet for an ailment , and he stood so tame and still on the table , my vet kept shaking her head as she treated him. " If only dogs and cats were as good as this chappie ! " She said .

They are as helpless as toddlers and need our care and protection, and I sure gave that to mine. Fully protected coop and hardware cloth wire run attached.

They followed me all over the estate. Come running to me every time I call them.

Love my wee ones. Just the same as Patrice and Zim do theirs, too

I don't know what in life is more beautiful in colours ....birds....flowers....or fish .

They sure put some color into ones life. Now that we are without the pelican, great egret and gray heron, the chickens make a good substitute with eggs as a bonus. i was changing the transmission fluid and filters on the tractor and had 6 chickens and 2 of the dogs under there with me looking that I was doing things right. Jobs like that take a little longer and having to close the little door so Olive or snuggles don't come on the work bench while I am welding and such. other than that a couple of the furry or feathered critters is mostly at my feet whatever I am doing around the place. The neighbors dog ( Doodle) is always close by and even got his Christmas presents here today.

Our spoiled brat got the bulk of the presents as usual

Lol. I have to check everytime I leave the place now to make sure dont any takeaways.

Jerry took one of the cats 100 miles to his house one day. It was curled up against the cab in the back of the truck.
