Re: whats for dinner - 01/03/22 09:14 PM

my ancestors hoop netted lawyers (burbot) out of the sturgeon river way back & my great, great grampa would make a separate pot using just the livers. suppose to be high in vitamins A & D. burbot was a staple, folks would stack them in the wood shed like cordwood frozen solid & thaw out as needed. good eats (never tried the livers tho)

Burbot livers are proportionately large and about the same color as a ripe banana. theyre an ugly fish but make a fine chowder. Perfect for this cold winter weather.

Yes. Took me and son C 15 minutes Sunday afternoon to put 6 in the truck. Good stuff but a couple are as tuff as a 10 year old roster.

Hard to beat homemade Chinese or Thai food. If you're really into those Asian type of foods, I'll recommend these sauces, they're the best I've ever come across. Top Shelf sauces, but you may have to order them from Amazon unless you can find them in a store:
Brand: Healthy Boy
Healthy Boy Thai Black Soy Sauce,
Healthy Boy Brand Mushroom Soy Sauce,
Red Boat Fish Sauce

Try 'em! :-)
