Fox sets

I'm new to trapping this year and cut my teeth on some beaver, now I'm trying my hand at some land sets. I've got a fox that has wiped out a chicken coop and haven't had any luck trapping him. I baited the chicken coop and set some footholds at the entrance. Ended up with possums 2 nights in a row. Have had fresh fox tracks all around for weeks now but not going near the coop anymore. I made a dirt hole set just off a nearby trail with no luck. I baited it with some red fox lure, and put some urine on a charred log I was using as a backer.

Next I made a hay set nearby. Baited with beaver tail oil, urine in hay between traps. Tracks everywhere, traps still empty. Should I move my traps around, or leave them be? Should I continue to freshen up urine and bait or leave the sets undisturbed? It has been 2 weeks now with traps set, and still no fox despite fresh tracks almost nightly. Any advice would be great.

I understand keeping away from the sets, but does human odor really play a big role in this scenario? This fox has been entering the chicken coop wandering around the house, and under the deck. It doesn't seem like human odor is bothering it. Also, it has been working the sets, with footprints all around in it, but never stepping on the traps. They seem to be bedded properly and well covered to me. Not trying to argue, just trying to understand.

If your allowed to snare in your state,set some snares.Much easier to snare in the snow.
