Going Under The Knife - 02/01/22 04:46 PM
Going for prostate removal tomorrow morning. Kinda hate giving it up, but don't need the cancer in me ether.
My sister-in-law, Rhonda, has a tumor on her bladder that has metastasized to her spine, lower lung, and kidney. Prognosis is not good.
She will be seeing a specialist tomorrow at University Hospital in Omaha.
She could use some prayers, if y'all are so inclined.
Thank you for looking.

God Bless.Prayers sent.
Good luck My grandfather would not get his removed. He was afraid of equipment not working after. He was 70 for crying out loud. He was ok for 9 years but when it really became a problem it was at the same time colon cancer did as well. He could not handel fighting them both.
I think its a good call to get it removed. A tough call but smart.

Keep you in my prayers. I had my prostate out 12 years ago and have been cancer free.

Re: Going Under The Knife - 02/01/22 05:14 PM
Your probably going to have it removed with the Davinci robot, which is how mine was done 10 years ago. Cancer free for me.
Radically life changing for me though. If you want to talk about it, PM me, I have a lot to share that wasn't shared with me and is not stuff I would share on a public forum.

I’d look into rezum as a method of prostate removal. It’s a process where they use steam to kill the prostate, newer method of prostate removal that doesn’t require surgery.

Charlie, I'm gonna say some prayers for you and your sister.
And that's about the best I can do without betraying the stoicism a man is known for... If you catch my drift.

Had a cancerous kidney and 8” of bad colon removed in 2020. Both caught early. No lasting problems that I know of. I’m sure there are some that I don’t know about yet.
Hope your surgery is as successful as mine was. Life is good. Remember that when you are feeling down.

Re: Going Under The Knife - 02/02/22 04:34 PM
Mine started in 2005, caught early, had 3 options, after a bunch of research for a week decided on radiation, 43 treatments later GONE but a few years later it was back, started Lupron shots every 3-6 months, kinda kept it at bay for a number of years then ended up in my lymph nodes but kinda just hung out in the one area for a while but now it has moved around and I'm on a 2 pill daily to prolong life for a while longer. One is called Abiraterone Acetate 250 mg 4 at a time followed by prednisone 5mg., blood tests every 2 weeks. Hasn't been as fun as running traps for sure, so goes life but at 79 yo can't expect to live forever. Been a pretty good fun & rewarding life.
