Got my first red fox! This is my first season trapping, and at least 1 red was my goal after catching a few beavers. Anyone have good resources on skinning these things out, anything I should know about em? Thanks! Also thank you for all the info on this forum, it definitely helped me with this catch.

First time catch any thing is memorable no matter how old you are when started trapping.
Fox were always my favorite.
And in the snow. Way to go!

I still remember my firsts!
Pretty thin skinned. Go slow. Try not to jerk the hide real hard. It's pretty easy to rip the hide on those reds.

Wow u caught him n the snow, too cool. Congrats, I mounted my first red as it took several years going thru Gray's and coyotes before I ever found one. This year caught 3xs reds vs. Grays on same land its funny how it's different over the years

Yes they're awesome. Just got him skinned and found all kinds of fleas on him. I can't believe those things can last in such cold temperatures.

Fox are very beautiful critters and great fun to catch. Remakes often produce another your remake should smell real foxy from the first one
