Almost all are snared.A snare is a very humane tool for cats.They go out extremely quick when neck caught due to their physiology.
I do trap the odd one with #3 softcatch.

I wish we could use real snares here. I had to release a cat my first year trapping, was very careful with the catch pole. A #3 almost seems too small for that foot.

Turned him on the board-fair size cat-64 inches Nose to Toes x 10 inches width.
46 inches nose to butt.

I would just love to keep what turns up in my traps i had to release 2 this year and there were several areas I avoided simply because they were in the area not to mention I have completely stopped using conni’s because I do t want to deal with having to turn in a deader to the DNR

I know there are conni box’s that are supposed to prevent their catch but I would simply prefer not to deal with it

By the way plenty of them in areas in and around northern MN at times

My biggest cat this year was 35 lbs,not sure if that is the one,there is another large skin in the freezer I have to put on the board in the next few days,Then I can let you know.
