Collection of New Jersey's finest coyotes - 02/21/22 01:30 AM

So I have snared 12 coyotes on the family farm in the last few weeks and only 1 was skinnable. A couple had the mange but most are just skanky. Basically no or very little underfur on the neck, shoulders and flanks. I think they have scratched it out due to ticks which are really bad around here in the summer and fall. In years past about 9 out of 10 were nice skinnable coyotes, but all colors of the rainbow, from white to black.

You can also clean up and sell the skulls, unless the People's Republic of NJ says that is verboten. That's what I would do, even with the skanks. Wear gloves and after cutting off and skinning the head don't bring your clothes inside if a person is worried about lice or mites, then take a shower. Multiple venues to sell skulls "if allowed"...

Some years around here it is as high as thirty percent throw away due to lice. Back in the late 90s to early 2000s it was mange. Now our population has crashed fewer numbers of coyotes and even coon and possum...weird.
