Bacon score - 04/03/22 08:09 PM

Cloverdale 30lbs or $90. I also got 5 lbs of smoked sausage for $5 5 lbs of smoked pork for $7 and 5 lbs of ham for $5. The gay gave me 50% off everything but the bacon and at $3 a pound that was a deal anyway.

I had never seen him and never met him. He was running the cash register is all I know. He ask if I need help and told him I thought I could handle it. When I went to check out I ask him how I did. He said " It looks like you did well " As far as being choosy Cloverdale has some good meat. Cloverdale bacon is $7.24 a pound at Walmart, I just looked on the computer. It is their outlet store I was at.

I go to a Gordon's restaurant supply store and get really good thick sliced bacon for $5 per pound. There's lots of it and I can dig through it for a good selection.

Our local Piggly Wiggly had Cloverdale bacon on sale for $3.99 the past two weeks. Been buying our local smoke house's bacon at the same Pig for the same price with better quality all along since this bacon pricing thing began.

So based on these prices would 100lbs of bacon for $50 be a steal of a deal? I was offered that yesterday and said I’d think about it.

I wasn’t sure if that was a deal or not. I never buy big slabs of meat from the butcher or farmer to know what’s a good deal or the going price.

Think I’ll buy some and see how it goes!

I’m going to talk to the guy tomorrow and place my order. I was told prices on a bunch of cuts of meat. It was overwhelming.
