The cutest show on TV. - 04/14/22 05:39 PM

Netflix has a Japanese TV show on called "Old Enough". It's the cutest, most charming TV show I have ever seen. They take 2 year old to 4 year old Japanese children, have their parents tell them they need their help and send them on multiple linked errands in public. The children wear microphones, in an amulet bag, so you can hear them. They have large numbers of camera men that film the children as they go on their errands, who also unobtrusively safeguard them. The children are amazing and adorable. It's great to see just a happy little show.

I did. Do you think these 2 year olds understand they are being “watched” by camera men? Sounds like abuse to me. All for some sicko to watch.

Sounds like a fun show, Keith.

Probably filled with them thinking out loud as they search for the items , knowing their parents will be proud of them.

What a bizarre response. The show is incredibly positive. There's absolutely nothing sick about it. It shows very loving parents and children, where the children have been brought up the right way, wanting to help their families. The children are incredibly happy to help and to be recognized for helping. The children appear to be well on their way to being very decent human beings.

It is a fun and beautiful show. It's possibly the most positive, upbeat show I've ever seen. It gives great hope for the future of the people of Japan.

I'll have to look for that sometime. Everyone could use some happy fun things to enjoy.

Maybe he's confusing it with the MB, LA, SF, NYC and DC versions where they send their young ones out to get mommy some krak, jack daddy a new car and pop a cop or 2 .... smile

I see his point. It is fine and cute when they are being watched. I think the issue come in where the kids are no longer being watched by a crew of adults and now the kid thinks he/she is going to help again, but now there is no one to watch them and they don't know any different in their innocence.

I can see both sides of the coin.

No, I just don’t think it’s right to put a 2 year old in that kind of situation.

Edit: this response is to the ones that posted before Mark K.

Yep, I reckon those children should be removed from their home and placed in child protective custody.
