CVA scout pistol - 04/19/22 01:23 AM
I dropped into the local sporting goods store today. Found something that caught my eye, its a CVA scout pistol in 350 legend. I have one in a .243 and it shoots great. We as in the group I hunt with have killed several deer with it. We use it to fill most of our antlerless tags. I think this caliber in a pistol would be great. Anyone had any experience with it. They have a 14" barrel on them. so the ballistics should not be far off a rifle. Would like to hear the good and bad, if anyone has anything.
here is some info on loads and velocities in a 12 inch barrel , seems like it should be good 1950 with a 180gr power point from a 12 inch barrel in an AR
https://www.ar15.com/forums/Armory/350-legend-velocity-short-barrel-/42-512114/I went 300blk years before 350 legend was an option , I do think it would be where I would go if were to build a pistol for deer today.
although in a shingle shot I might go 30-30 or 308 if it was an option for barrels

My son bought one two weeks ago. Hasn’t shot it yet. I’m interested To see what kind of groups it will shoot.

This is a group from the .243 with a load I worked up for it. I think the high and low were me. It has a 2x7 scope on it.

I’ll post pics when we site it in. Not sure what to expect from the .350
