An interesting article written by a Swiss colonel who was a strategic intelligence officer in their military (yes, Switzerland has a military and most adult men are reservists for much of their lives). He ended up working with NATO about the proliferation of small arms around the world- work built on trying to clear land mines in many countries we have forgotten that have had wars in the past 50 years. In this article, he discusses in length the seeds of the current war in Ukraine. I hope this post stays up even if its criticizes the U.S. government's actions over the years. This guy may be a total tool for the Russians but it is different analysis that what we hear on our MSM (including FNC here as well) on a daily basis.

Sounds pretty much like it was grampy. Our country needs very much to sew seed of love and understanding, rather than what they do! I hope the seeds they been planting don't grow!

If you read the article it is very obvious that it is just poorly written, pro russian propaganda.

How could anyone believe these are real casualty numbers?

It is impossible that none of the Ukrainian's total casualties were from the enemy they were actively fighting. Why do any of you believe that?

Like it or not the US and our allies are now in a proxy war with russia. Since we are at war with russia, russia is irrefutably our enemy. They have been our enemy for a very long time. I sincerely hope that russia as it was at the start of the war, we are paying for, no longer exists as soon as possible.

Once Russia takes ground they have to hold it.
They will wind up the same as they did in afghanistan once they try to occupy any part of Ukraine.

It depends on what the war aims really are. If its to allow the ethnic Russians in eastern Ukraine not to be persecuted by the ultra right Ukie gangs, I mean militias, that have been enforcing things such as they can't have their kids taught in their native language, etc., the Rus may not have to be looking over their shoulders all the time. Look at this map again, this is the 2010 election that got the things that happened in 2014 rolling. The presidential candidate in blue favored closer ties with Russia. In the eastern part of the country, he won not only most of the ethnic Russian vote and a noticeable amount of the ethnic Ukrainians as well, otherwise this guy couldn't have gotten the majorities represented by the darker blues. The red tones are the majorities that voted for the presidential candidate that favored closer ties with the EU. Geography matters, Ukraine is not a united, everybody thinks the same country. Funny how the candidate in blue never got a chance to run for re-election...

Biden announces additional $150 million in military aid to Ukraine
President Biden has urged Congress to approve his $33 billion request for additional assistance.

Kirby said that the United States has committed approximately $4.5 billion in security assistance to Ukraine since President Biden took office in January 2021, and $3.8 billion since Russia began their war against Ukraine.

President Joe Biden spoke with top U.S. intelligence and defense officials on Friday to stress the importance of their work but also said that recent news reports about U.S. intelligence sharing with Ukraine have been counterproductive, according to two administration officials.

On the phone with CIA Director William Burns, Director of National Intelligence Avril Haines and Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin, Biden's message was that such disclosures “distract from our objective,” one official said. The other official said Biden conveyed that the leaks should stop.

The CIA and the Office of the DNI declined to comment. The Pentagon and the National Security Council did not respond to requests for comment.

The Biden administration is doing the right thing by assisting Ukraine in locating Russian military command-and-control units. However, the administration's denial that it is helping Ukraine target Russian general officers does not stand up to scrutiny.

As the New York Times reports, U.S. intelligence-sharing with Ukraine has been crucial to the latter's ability to identify and eliminate Russian commanders. U.S. officials, however, appear concerned that these revelations will provoke Russian escalation.

A National Security Council spokeswoman told Politico that "the headline of [the New York Times's] story is misleading and the way it is framed is irresponsible. The [United States] provides battlefield intelligence to help the Ukrainians defend their country. We do not provide intelligence with the intent to kill Russian generals." NBC News reports that U.S. rules mean it "can share [intelligence] about command and control, but not individuals."

The administration is stretching here.
