Glory to God - the trapper dude graduated

Time went by so fast during these three years.

It has been a transformative time for me as well as my family and extended family during my studies here in Dallas at Dallas Theological Seminary.
You know, they're right.... you're never too old. This past weekend, Donna and I had 22 family members from several states join us celebrating the Glory of God working in people's lives.

From here, Donna and I both pray for continued strength by our Lord's Hand...
to Teach Truth, Love Well and to Love God, Love Others.

God held on to me through His Creation long before I ever knew and came to this special place. Praise be to God.

I had a college room-mate that had an extremely high IQ and graduated in the top 1% of all civil engineering students nationwide. He went on to seminary where he once professed to me that it was the hardest he'd ever had to work when it came to studies. That always stuck with me. I sincerely congratulate you.

Thanks for all the nice comments. As far as next steps, we're heading to south Texas to trap until the end of the month and then off to MI we go to a home where we bought in Houghton Lake. We've got to get the shop back up and running ASAP!

As far as the near-term ministry path, in collaboration with professors and former DTS students who've gone off and started seminaries around the globe, it would seem my next ministry path will be to teach pastoral skills, including a biblically grounded "theology of suffering," in some rather interesting places. First stop, looks to be Mozambique, East Africa.

We have no goal or aspirations, just an Isaiah heart of "send me" for the Glory of God.

Thank you to all our great trapper friends.
Many of my professors, as well as the head of police on campus, all enjoyed chatting about hunting, fishing, and.... yep, trapping.
I told 'em all I subdue creation, quite literally.

We vacated our apartment on campus this morning, drove 7 hours south and set traps this afternoon in 101 temps. IT WAS GREAT GETTING BACK AFTER THESE COYOTES!

I remember 1st semester back in the fall of 2019, when I went to the book store and came back to the apartment with 33 books for classes. Donna looked at the pile, which was substantial, and asked, "What are all those?" I told her they were my course required reading. Not even the "suggested" readings. She smiled and said, "good luck babe." The Moser-Turbin library is the 5th largest seminary library worldwide and when you walk in, it was told to us as students to read the sign just inside the vestibule.... "Here resides 384,000 works of men about the one Work of God.

I always liked that sign.
Great perspective.

It's a wonder and a privilege to study the God who reveals so that we can know Him.
