Does anybody know where you can get these anymore? My brother has been looking for some and can't find them anywhere.

BassPro might have them.
not much around
you can order 7.5 shot from Federal direct but that is the only one they have in stock

Thanks, I'll let my brother know. That's a good price too.
Thanks Pete, the 2 1/2" have been scarce.

I have seen some at Walmart recently. Some 2.5" and some 3". Shot sizes have varied 6, 7.5 and 8. They typically only have a box or two at a time and they don't last long but it seems that in another week or so they have another couple boxes.

I can find a good bit online in all shot sizes but it all comes in about $23-$25 a box. I can reload a box for a couple bucks so I'll probably keep going that route

Coondagger2, what is a reliable 410 shot shell reloader on the market today? Just looking to reload about 150 rounds a year until the childrens get bigger.

Re: 410 Shells - 05/11/22 07:56 PM
Yesterday on my run to wal mart to check for ammo and other clearance stuff I saw 3 boxes of Winchester 3 inch 4 shot. All 3 came home with me. I took 2 boxes to work today for a guy who's been looking for them for about 5 months. I've been trying to snag some for him that long as well. They were about $17.75 a box with tax. It's very rare to see them around here, like I said I've been looking for about 5 months. He has a grandson he likes to take rabbit hunting and was down to less than a box.
They also had 1 box of 3 inch Remington express 4 shot for $20.50, which I left there.

Try ammo seek, Lots of .410 to choose from but pricey

We both tried Federal and it said they were unavailable.
The best option might be to start hitting some gun shows.

I have a MEC 9000 progressive for 410, but if you are only doing a small quantity the MEC 600 jr. will work perfect for you
ammo seek shows some , I am just not familiar with some of the vendors who show having it. I have not used them before so search and make sure they are good businesses

Re: 410 Shells - 05/11/22 09:17 PM
I use a mec 600, and .444 Marlin brass with LPP.
Lil Gun powder, CCI primer, and felt wads from BPI.
Couple things to look for is the rim thickness might need to be taken down to chamber and plastic wads don't provide a tight enough seal causing blowby issues (loss of velocity)

I second the MEC 600 Jr. I purchased one earlier this year for 410 and have loaded about 1300 rounds so far. Components can be a challenge and are pricey, but it keeps me shooting.

Re: 410 Shells - 05/11/22 11:03 PM
When you find it for sale buy lots...
.
Mec 600jr are great. Have one for 28 g and one for 10g. Use to have one for 20 and 12 but when my father passed I got his Mec grabbers in 12 and 20 so I sold the 600 jr in those gauges. As other have said you can’t go wrong with Mec 600 jr. never shot enough 410 to justify purchase. Only shoot 410 maybe 4 boxes a year

Re: 410 Shells - 05/11/22 11:17 PM
Thanks guys, will be on the hunt for one along with 2 more single shot for the kids.
MEC 600 jr for 410 will do what you want. I bought one from a trapperman member 2 or 3 years ago.
Rickey
I also need to mention that a man named Barry Declined makes a hand loader kit for .410. It will make nice shells but is not nearly as fast as the MEC and does not make as nice a crimp.

Tell me what you are looking for and I will see what I can find. I cover a large part of central MN for work and stop at a number of sporting goods stores regularly. 2-1/2 or 3"? Any particular shot size? How much are you willing to pay? How many do you want? I have seen them from time to time but they don't last long.

At that price I'd have you get me a case.
Are you going through NE this year?

As a matter of fact, one of us gets back to Nebraska at least 4 times a year. Next scheduled trip to Omaha will be July 22.

T7 I was in the Mankato Scheels today, they had 3 choices of .410. Remington 7.5s, and Fiocci 8 and 9s.
If you get down to St Cloud check that one out.

My favorite preacher passed away around 10 years ago. He was a huge gun collector. He rabbit hunted with me for years. When he passed his wife gave me a Spanish made 410 double barrel shotgun. I've taken it with me several times, can't hit crap with it but it's a beautiful gun.
check fleet
they had it in Delivan WI today

Re: 410 Shells - 02/15/24 06:05 PM
I reload so Im lucky. we have several 410's and it gets expensive shooting them. I bought a mec 410 reloader and I got real lucky and come up on about 1000 AA 2 1/2" hulls and about 400 3" hulls... 410 hulls are not easy to find right now so I was blessed...wads are not hard to find, h110 is an easy powder to find.. I like h110/w296 and mp300 for reloading 410.. I can also get a lot better loads than factory...
I searched for 2 years, every place I went I would check for 410 ammo.Over the 2 years I purchased 15 boxes, mostly 4,5, and 6s for hunting. Now I just bought the granddaughters a single shot 410 to go with those shells. I wanted to make sure they had some ammo for it to go hunting with Grandpa. My oldest granddaughter loves shooting it, younger one is not quite ready yet. Also thinking about reloading for the 410.

19.95 a box for 3" #6 shot here. I forget what I paid for 2.5# #7 1/2 shot the other day, had a bunch of stuff bought that day.

This is a really old post you drug up 30-06 Trapper. There's a lot of .410 available right now if a guy is willing to spend the money it costs.
Click Here for a list of 500 or so.

I appreciate it, keck. It was my brother who wanted them to shoot red squirrels that he was having a problem with. He was grateful for the shells. Unfortunately, he unexpectedly passed away in his sleep about a month ago. His wife said she was sure he would want me to have the 410 and gave it to me.
