Prayer request
When we bought this place 9 years ago, it came with some cabins. The cabins came with some annual guests. 4 fishermen who came here every year to fish and stayed in the cabins. Over that time, they've became great friends. Some of them are trappers, some not, but all are outdoorsmen. Tom Dooly isn't a trapper, but he's a great guy and at the young age of 60, is dying. His heart is at only 15% working. He's here now to fish, against medical advice. He might live a year. Or a month. Or a day. Doctors say there is nothing they can do.
He really wants to go fishing tomorrow. Please pray that he's able to do so and that he lives long enough to get to enjoy a bit more of life, too.

Well it didn't work out. They went this morning but he was only able to be on the water for about an hour before he got real sick. They had planned to stay until Friday, but he just couldn't do it so they left this morning. Driving home then straight to the hospital.

Sorry to hear, friends and family dropping left and right over here as well, cousin just fell over dead driving the down the road a few weeks ago, heart quit on him, he was 63. Friends dad is being buried today, heart quit on him thur night, he would of been 75 this coming wed.

Got him home but in hospital. His kidneys had shut down but both functioning again. He4 had a small stroke. Thanks for all the prayers for our Buddy.

Thanks for sharing this bittersweet story. I wish Tom could have gotten some more fish but if a person is right with the Lord, and right with their family and friends, and can be doing things they love up until the last days, that's a pretty good way to leave these Earthy digs. May God bless Tom and al his family and friends in the time he has left...

Well, I recalled there was a song called “Tom Dooley” and thought I’d post a link. Listened to the song again and thought better of it! May the good lord grant him an enjoyable adventure!
