Bill Crum and the RBG - 05/22/22 01:23 PM

Anybody else remember when Bill was on TMan asking people what to call the round body grip he was going to start producing and selling. I have been racking my brain trying to remember who suggested RBG.

I came up with the slogan "Traps have finally come full circle"

Bill came up with the idea after making beaver hoops and have left over rods. He fiddled with them and got them round but had issues with them closing correctly. After a bit he figured that out too and made some put together with nuts and bolts rather than rivets. I had a 110 and 160 RBG OG (sadly both were eventually stolen) that had the nut and bolt holding the jaws.

I also had a 1 1/2 coil with rod jaws Bill made, not sure what happened to it

Still have some 6 inch that are the ticket for groundhogs. Was next to Bill at a booth at the NTA when he was first selling them and I was selling the possum book. Made a friendship for life that week. Supper nice guy and great family.
