Does your ice go out early enough for you to trap rats on floats?
Looks like a good chunk of rat habitat there.

Nope, rat season ends on the last day of February, I think. Ice out is 6 weeks or so later. The lake is high right now, this is temporary high water.

That’s a lot of water for July 2nd.What river does your water drain into?

Lake of the Woods drains into the Winnepeg River, but not as fast as the Rainy River inflows from the Boundary Waters area.

Those fall winds will tell the test of time.

The lake is taking the sandbar at Zippel, and trees are falling one by one. Most of the sandbar is covered with water, water in the trees.....a good north wind will not just take out the sandbar, it will move it back inland.

Les where I used to have my shack across the road is a disaster. If it was still there I'd surmise there would be 18 inches plus of water in the floor.

My buddy tom put a new trailer house in over by zipple, the water has pretty much surrounded it, the propane tank started to float away until the neighbor rescued it.

I was up west bay this morning, and I have a job going up there inside a 32 x 80 garage that is surrounded yet 2' higher than the water....the two track just clears the water. There is propane tanks half submersed all over, and I was all over the swamp, up deer shooting lanes with my boat...stuff floating everywhere in 2-3 feet of water.

West bay is a disaster....out in big bay I picked up all kinds of Marine useables.
