Behind the scenes.... - 05/25/22 10:41 PM

For those that think they might want to be a guide. Here is a behind the scenes look at what it takes. The point of this trip was to haul ourselves into our summer fishing lodge via my 55-mile trapline trail. Snow, high water, bridge building, mud and breakdowns.....its not all fun. Myself, my wife, my son and grandson made the trip. [Linked Image]

Yea, Im sure you've cut a few miles in your day. This past winter was really bad for blowdown. We had so much snow that trees were busting off regularly. I saw a small thicket of new growth spruce yesterday that looked like dead grass. The winter snow had laid it flat, busting many off. I have never seen so much snow on the trails this time of year either. In some places there was a couple feet yet.

I dont own an Argo. I've used them lots when guiding hunters for Ceaser lake, but they own them. After that trip I might get one though. Wouldnt have had to build any bridges !

Hard work for sure but being with family in the great outdoors making memories beats the heck out of a mill job.

Great pictures and story to go with it Dave , we've got a little bit of snow on the mtns south of here but not enough to fill Fort Peck Lake to full pool or get the rivers bank to bank full .

What a great way to make memories for your son and grandson spending time with the grandparents !

Great pics Dave. People always comment to me how great it must be to guide fisherman, but taking care of 6-8 people in the deep bush is a challenge and work.
I am fortunate to have planes handle my travel in and out, hats off to you for that hard working trek.
I’ve got a group into Bear this summer I’ll wave out the port side when we fly in.
