Compared to most other states, Idaho is not much of a place for amphibians and reptiles. However, we do have a few different species, and the springtime is the time to find a few.

The northern alligator lizard inhabits the northern part of the state.

The western skink has a surreal coloration on it's tail, especially if it's a younger animal.

Very nice shots, Jack. Sure love the gator lizards here.

Lol, I have no experience like you Gulo. I just always called the top a corn snake, the middle a water snake and the bottom a lizard.

Reptiles were last summer's 4H project. Had fun catching critters with the girls.

We have a decent selection of reptiles and amphibians, but two of my favorites are the speckled kingsnake and grey tree frog.

Great job, those are some really cool photos.

Not sure if I have posted this pic before, Prairie Rattlesnake from South Dakota.

Timbers are usually the only reptile I stop to take a picture of. Two of these were ready to shed

I almost forgot about this old girl. She was laying eggs right by the visitor center in Pine Grove state park

Nice pics all.

No reptile, just my old/failing dog sleeping on his favorite pillow. My stinking hat.
