Please pray for my daughter..update

Some of yall are familiar with the posts I've made concerning my daughter's mental health.

She got out of the hospital last Friday after 2 months.

She was diagnosed with schizoaffective disorder bipolar type
Since she's been home she has been as bad or worse than she had been before being admitted.

Yesterday she wandered off on Jerry 5 times while I was at work. We found her setting nshoulder deep in the crick below our house the last time.

She attempted to assault me and threatened that she was going to hurt me. Jerry intervened . We had to go in town last night and do a mental hygiene on her. It's a mental health evaluation against her will.

They approved the petition and the sheriff picked her up.
The last words as she went out he door was mama I freaking hate you.

Its very very hard to get a person mental help in wv.

Ease pray for her and us.

We really need the prayers.

My prayers have been with your family for several years. Mental illness was once in my family.

Mother’s brother returned from the Pacific after WWII with shell shock. He would shout out the window at the “natives”, who he believed were sealing items. He went to the VA with a 100% service related disability. He was hospitalized for 30 years. Electric shock treatments didn’t work. Finally he was prescribed a sedating medicine that controlled his anger moods. He spent the remainder of his 85 years in a rocking chair. He conversed with invisible people and frequently laughed. He was no longer a danger to himself, but did not have a quality of life.

Mental illness is very sad. God bless you.

They are treating this situation as a child just being defiant another looking at her mental illness history.

Prayers from our home.Remember it's not your daughter that's yelling at you,its the illness.My mother had Alzheimers,I went to the home where she was staying and when she saw me she grabbed my hair,and started slapping my face.A member of the staff came over to help me get her hand out of my hair,then she started spitting on me.The staff came out and were apologizing for moms behavior but it really didn't bother me,it was the disease talking not her and I knew it.

It's been the hardest 2 days of my life.

My daughter is extremely ill.

We did get her committed and it's at a very good hospital with forensic psychiatrists. She's never been there before so hopefully being in front of a new set of doctors will be a good thing.

She did call me today which I didn't expect. That was a good thing.

At least I know she's safe.

I want each and every one of you that expressed good thoughts and Prayers for her and my family to know I am truly thankful to you.

I really appreciate it.

It's a little hard right now. Jerry is on a selling trip to Minnesota and won't be back till Monday morning.

I'm just keeping busy.

I'm sorry Cathryn. And it isn't just WV... It is nigh on impossible to get someone any kind of mental help anywhere. There are lots of places willing to take your money for outpatient therapy. But getting someone committed for serious disorders is an Herculean task.

I will say a prayer for you and your daughter.

I'm waiting to hear from her therapist or doctor.

We took clothes and toiletries up to her yesterday.

It's about a 2 to 2.5 hour drive from here.

I didn't get to see her but she does have the things she needs so now it's just a waiting game.

mental illness is a disease just like any other type of medical problem .Many times it is a result of a chemical imbalance .It is treatable but it can be very hard to find the correct medications to help the patient feel better again .You need to trust the doctors but make sure you question everything they say and do .They seldom have all the answers or treatment for what is the cause of the problem to start with. Often in an attempt to cheer up someone that is dealing with mental problems a well meaning person will tell them to cheer up ,or smile or it can't be that bad .For those people struggling thru this type of problem it is not something that you can use willpower to recover. It is good that she is getting help .Too often even when it is known that help is necessary it is not provided

He insurance rep told me today that she could easily be in this hospital for a year, if warranted.

She definitely needs help and I'm continuously praying that she gets the help she so desperately needs.

She's adjusting g but having bad spells where she's had to be sedated. They are considering ECT ..or shock therapy. I'm pretty worried about that

Guess it's not just W.Virginia where its hard to get help.
My wife just got off the phone with her lifelong friend in Colorado who's son is struggling similarly.
Doctors won't help, police won't help, Kid knows how to play the system.He threatened to kill his mother, then tried to launch himself off the balcony when the cops showed up, finally some crisis manager stepped in and had him committed for eval, Now the hospital wants to release him "cause he's fine"....

I had a guy who worked for me that had some major mental issues. He got accidentally electrocuted working on a stereo and it totally changed how he thought and behaved. It fixed him. The doctors said the shock altered some of the membranes on his brain and changed how his brain worked.

ECT works very well for some people.

I hope they can help your daughter.

It's the exact same BS here. I'm sorry her friend is going through this. I know exactly what she's going through.
