Yeah! I’ve slipped over to ITT, just to make sure he is alright.

Still fussing about social security and the road construction. Now he wants a credit card. Was warned about being a racist.

He’ll be back trolling soon enough.

Hawkeye vs anybody with a crawfish on the pan! I miss him. I had no idea p-skinny died? I thought he just quit coming around. Can't remember his name but the alaska guy that worked at a sporting goods/gun store vs anyone who complained about cyclists in the road. He may be in the alaska section still. I always liked buckne. Everybody accused him of being the google king but I always liked the way he argued....or rather the way he had everyone resort to name calling because they couldn't argue with him. Lol.

Yes I came on about 2001, those (This word is unacceptable on Trapperman), Gappa, Wiley E and others were long, pointed and in many cases I learned a lot. We do note that most of those are now gone from this site for various reasons. Many times passions come and go and people get booted, tired or move on. The thing that I admired about many of those long and pointed threads is that there could be very direct and stern discussion and for the most part they were civil enough to last for days. That is not the case many times now. To me we have gone more from an educational and informational forum to a cultural entertainment forum, based on sound bytes preferred by either side of the issue. Not much to be learned by short and shopped sound bytes.

Agreed.....especially the last 2 sentences....statements. Respect is lacking in the way of people enjoying being rude and mouthy and acting like its a debate forum instead of just listening. Many good trappers leave and others wont post just because of fear of being attacked or ridiculed. Respect has been lost in our culture the last 50 yrs. Seems like many think its cute to be smart---

Re: Do you remember your favorite Tman fued'rs - 05/28/22 12:14 PM

I learned a lot from those posts.

When I was a kid I read a story in Field and Stream or maybe Outdoor Life that said turkeys need to fly off the side of a hill. They had a difficult time flying from level ground. I quit reading magazines. No FFG no TPC none of them.

I thought I was a pretty good trapper when I came on here. Among the handful of trappers I knew I was. One of the most valuable lessons I learned here was to run what somebody was saying through my experience filter because there were a lot of people out there who know a lot more than me. Made my world a lot bigger I guess is a good way to say it.

A bit off topic. Not really a feud so to speak. But I enjoy Hal Sullivan's posts. They way he would infuse common sense, compassion, empathy, and understanding towards those that opined the unorthodox way of trapping. Some may argue that there was a slight trace of edginess to his demeanor, but that disappeared shortly after his sabbatical to that monastery in Tibet. grin

There was a guy called Bird Dog or something close to that anyway that was a biologist from Oregon or Washington. They had a forest fire near a lake and peoples houses were burning. He was saying helicopters shouldn't get water out of the lake because it had some kinda off the wall bacteria in it. I think he may have been a fiddle player too!

One of the most memorable characters in a good way for me was Maw Cat. Just good humor all around.

Miss Sharon
You remember PSkinny doing the skinning & put up of the field mouse with pictures. Used a piece of clothers hanger for a stretcher so he could get Top Lot.
I used to spend 30 minutes at a time with him in Smithfield because you had to take a break from laughing at that clown. And nothing better than the T-Man on line dating service for him too. I think the Boss could have kicked him off for stalking some of the ladies. He was a hoot.

I used to spend 30 minutes at a time with him in Smithfield because you had to take a break from laughing at that clown. And nothing better than the T-Man on line dating service for him too. I think the Boss could have kicked him off for stalking some of the ladies. He was a hoot.

I remember those pictures of the mini sets and fur. Aside from being humorous, he really was quite detailed and precise in his work. I remember he , Mr Paul, and a few others had a running fictitious story going for a while that was a hoot.

Not sure why anyone responds to coonman. He doesn't really want any help, and never listens to good advice, assuming you can understand what he says...

Of course theres always the entertainment value. cool
