Love the sound of American Air power. Some people at work were annoyed and I just can't understand it. I won't be going to the show but the wife and her dad are going both days to help run security. She is excited as she will be beyond the fence right off the edge of the runway. They have a good static display at the show too, pretty cool touring the planes of the past.

I like hearing them jets too is way better than some whinny motor cycle leaving stop lights. If your wife's going to be near the end of the run way. Tell her to take good hearing protection or for sure at least ear plugs. I wore both last they were here and I got that close.
Enjoy

Both sons live in Eau Claire and enjoy the prep work and look forward to the actual show.

First time I saw them was at Moffett Field, Sunnyvale, CA back in about 1967 or 1968.

When the kids were younger we watched the practice at Pensacola NAS, then checked out the museum.
I highly recommend it if you are anywhere near Pensacola when they are scheduled to practice

I saw the Thunderbirds here in Lakeland a couple months ago. There was a single Navy jet that put on a show by itself that I enjoyed more than the Thunderbirds. The Thunderbirds lost a plane and pilot a couple years ago and it's taking them awhile to get back in the groove.

I flew into Klamath falls oregon several years ago and there were 2 of the blue angels there, they were just traveling through and stopped for fuel. Got to visit with the pilots, I thought they would be irrogant, not so those were the nicest guys you could meet. One thing that did surprise me was how young they were.
Sure were nice guys

I grew up with a kid in Summerfield KS right on the NE border. He got a private pilot license and learned to fly when he was 16. Years later I was watching a TV show about military fighter jets having a competition and there he was flying a jet. Living the dream!
