From a nuisance beaver job today.

dang big dam , about how many you think are in that pond ,

Just a pair at each of the two spots I figure.
They were cleaned out last summer,and the summer before,and the summer before,lol.
It doesnt take a couple beaver too long to plug the old breach and once they do the water comes up fast after a couple rains and snowmelt,

That out-flow ditch below the dam looks like a sweet spot

I checked that out right off the bat,-but no crossover.

Simply beautiful , I miss Canada. Grew up in Summers around the Kawartha Lakes, Pigeon, Buckhorn, Sturgeon. I miss the cool mornings in summer and catching fresh pickeral

Are hides still salvageable? Castors any good?

Blackflies just coming out.
Us Eskimos are pretty much immune to them.
Castors are good,Majority of the hides have no value right now on the raw fur market but could be useful for something if one wanted to work them up.
Savell be trying to catch a catfish in that swamp.

Just shot coffee outa my nose.

Went down to the river with the bike today to check the trail.I filled in a few black muck holes with some brush.
Was cool and damp so I made a fire in the cabin and hung out for a couple hours doing some small chores.
