Need a new pellet grill

the old GMG has about had it, new auger, board, ignitor in past few years. Not getting up to temp now (all the fans are working and ignitor heating up) and thinking its time to replace instead of sinking more money into an old grill

Considering a 600$ lower end traeger from home depot since I only cook for 2-3 at any time I don't need a huge grill

What do you guys have and like?

Pitt Boss had a big selection to choose from.

Maybe give a good cleaning.I replaced most of the parts you listed and got many years of trouble free use.

pit boss. love it. grey daisy dukes are an upgrade option by the way.

Nothing beats a lump charcoal grill/smoker for
Flavor and Iong smoking times.

Pit boss. My grillin shorts are not as tight.

I’ve had for 2 years. Use it all the time, never a problem with it.

I can make a bowl of Cheerios without my pit boss , but that thing turned me into a grilling aficionados. It is an easy way to figure out how to grill or smoke meat. I didn’t know you had to wear shorts, but the apron is a must .

Hopefully more than just an apron….

Charcoal - if you're retired or on disability and nothing else to do

Pellet - if you're a working man


I prefer my pitboss over my traeger

I know a handful of guys that have owned Traeger, Pit Boss, and Green Mountain..... they all say they prefer Green Mountain. Any thoughts from folks who have experience with all of them

My buddy finally ditched his GMG , circuit board problems and something else ....I don't remember

Went to a Zgrill and absolutely love it.

Pit Boss Navigator 550. I wondered if itd be too small but it has been just fine. It seems heavier built than others ive looked at and heats up FAST. No regrets.
