My guess is the kids selling chips and drinks are competing with the schools ((overpriced))? vending machines.

I'm a little conflicted by this, on one hand it seems absurd that the school would be searching kids lunches. On the other hand seeing that this nation has an epidemic of obesity in kids, and since schools are all about education, then maybe some sort of nutritional education is in order. Non one needs additional chips and soda to survive the day.

Unfortunately it is pretty obvious that there are a lot of derelict baby producers in this Country who aren't parenting kids.
What is your solution to that problem?

Mass sterilization or forced abortion will take care of those irresponsible people.
You only have rights if you accept the responsibilities that go with them, else you are out of order by order of the order.

But whatever you do, don't use a gun to defend yourself. Not allowed.

This is a bit loaded. Start with quit rewarding poor life choices. Girl gets pregnant by one of the 20 looser she freely sleeps with and it's no big deal. Free housing,food,medical and other programs.
No personal responsibility needed . More kids means a bigger check.

She has no incentive to work to keep a stable relationship as soon as the first minor thing happens off to the next guy. That does not care about her or her kids. Raising the kids who has time for Dat drop them off at the free daycare.

Without the programs there is more incentive to choose your sex partners more selectively, build a relationship, and learn how to work out problems.

There is much more to it but it's a start. Responsibility , risk and reward needs to be taught once again.

Anyone getting public assistance gets sterilized. You don't want to get sterilized, don't take gov't handouts.

Outlaw health care thru employers, make individuals responsible for all health care and allow health care ins. to charge what ever they wish based on risk. Overweight people would pay more. Grossly obese people would pay way more.
No health ins? no health care, show up at the ER with no coverage, the hospital can refuse coverage.

Drop all the PC, multiculturalism, critical race theory, gender study and trans garbage from all public education.

Wait…what??? What does it matter if my employer offers health care? That’s sorta a bargaining chip when enticing an employee.
So what you are wanting is a communist country. They have those already, feel free to move to one and get back to us if they even allow you internet access.

Unless theres reasonable suspicion of drugs or other contraband, they have no reason to be doing that. They dont know what the kids need for lunch to get them through the day.

Trading food is an age old tradition at school lunch tables. These days with so many kids having food allergies these days, trading food probably shouldn't be encouraged in elementary school

Selling and trading food? Trading food during your school lunch time has been going on since kids ate lunch at school. Appears to be a solution in search of a problem!

We could eliminate all tax credits for kids. You wanted them, you pay for them. There will be no deductions anymore.

They are training people. when they're young and impressionable, so that they accept searches of their property as normal as adults.

They are also teaching children to be terrified of firearms, so they will happily go along with banning firearms as adults.,

We should not allow liberals to teach children.

First off it is no concern of the schools at all what food my daughter does or doesn't bring to school that is my concern. Secondly the school can't say that their lunches are even close to healthy, a lot of days the meager meal they serve the students is over 120 carbs with very little protein and fat. Finally, the school's responsibility is to teach reading, writing, and arithmetic as the old saying goes, I will teach moral and social values at home and the school security needs to be concerned with security not being the food police, as they have shown their stellar abilities in the last few school shootings.

I remember when Mike Obama got her nose in school lunches, ever student HAD to take a serving of salad and probly fruits, whether they wanted it or not. No concern at all if they just threw it in the trash. At least the commies got to force the kids what to put on their plate.

I remember getting a quarter for a nickel pack of now-n-laters. Demand was high, supply was short, what a profit to be made. Teachers didn't seem to care for those experiments in capitalism.

A kid could make a killing selling soda, lol. Buy a case of Mountain Dew for $8 and sell the cans for a buck a piece. Just tripled his money.

Absolutely disagree with them searching lunch boxes. Far left tactics for sure. & the mind game it plays on the kids themselves is wrong

When I was a kid there was one pop machine in the school building... It was in the teachers lounge. If you aced a test or really shined in some way, your teacher might have rewarded you with your choice of flavor of pop.

Otherwise we drank water from the fountain. Not even a stainless model with the chiller... Plain white porcelain with water at room temp.

And your school lunch was made with real food... Kinda bland, but it wasn't junk food. And you got white or chocolate milk to drink with it.

My folks paid for the lunch... I'm sure it was a bargain, but they still had to pay for it.

Now these kids get lunches subsidized by Pizza Hut and Taco Bell and all the pop they can drink.

Maybe not chips and soda but when Mrs. Obama stuck here nose in the lunch room and portions were cut my daughter needed to eat more. You might not think so but she was a three sport athlete that burned as many calories as a hummingbird. I about went broke feeding that kid lol.

Maybe kids should not be allowed to sell anything at school that is not endorsed? Just a thought. Top of the list is drugs, tobacco, vape stuff, knives, weapons, porn, phones, clothing, shoes, religious related sales, etc. School is not a swap meet or pawn shop for stolen property.

Many kid’s parents cannot afford school logo items or fund raising items. I don’t support vending machines either.

When I was a kid, and we had some dirt poor kids who needed clothing more than chips. We had kids who didn’t have plumbing, needed baths, and maybe had one change of clothes. This was in the 50s before segregation. Lord only knows what hardship the other kids had. At my school, we gave the teacher 50 cents on Monday, and that paid for five lunches. I don’t remember free lunches, so I feel certain some students went hungry. In farming communities, there was not much money to spend until harvest time. We had no manufacturing jobs. If your parents worked for the schools or the post office, you were rich. Two or three families owned all the farm land. I remember we paid the grocer every year in the fall. Every boy had a pocket knife and a pocket full of marbles for recess.

And I LOVED our school lunches. I'd go back for seconds if there was any left. Home made cinnamon rolls and chili soup on Thursdays or home made vegetable soup. Pigs in a blanket, porcupine meatballs. Loved it all.
I still remember Mrs Clark scratching her sweaty armpits with her hands and asking "one sammich, or two?"

I remember when in 4th grade they had gov surplus food. Cheese, peanut butter. and olives was the main ones I remember. They would keep at least one of those out on the table and one could eat all they wanted.
We had one kid that wasn't overweight but was very athletic and a big eater. One day they served baloney salad sandwich's as the main course. They always overloaded them with ground up cheese and mayonnaise and who knows whatever. Everybody hated them except for the one kid and he liked them, so we all gave him ours. He ate 21 and then after lunch when we was having social studies he puked all those sandwich's up right into his open book, lol.
What a shame it would be if the gov tried to oversee all of our life's experiences!

Back in my day they would never have had the balls to try that crap. Too many really big kids and parents who would back them up. That is not including the clever stuff we would have pulled.

My Dad caught a skunk on the way to school. The teacher made him hang his coat outside in a tree.

I don't know where they got the corn but it was pretty awesome too. I don't know how much butter they used in it but it sure was good.

Real food instead of junk, all the water you cared to drink, 2 recesses a day in elementary school, and then riding bikes and playing outside after you got home instead of hours of video games.

We were pretty poor but looking back it was still a pretty decent time to be a kid.

We had the cook put a loaf of bread and a bowl of honey on our table. They did it because we helped the cooks and this was our treat. Miss the great food we had every day at school. I was a farm boy so I was always hungry.
