.22LR Federal Automatch - 06/19/22 10:33 PM

Seems Wamart bought many tons of this ammo. 325 rounds for $21.48, I been grabbing the 3 box quota couple times a week for a while. Took the Ruger 10/22 and my fairly new Heritage Rancher carbine rifle. They have had CCI Mini Mag also. Suprised somewhat, the Fed Auto match was well liked by both rifles. The CCI was also quite good but not quite as tight as the Federal. Agulia Super Extra I brought was just as tight as the Federal also. For me the best value was the Federal, in cost and performance. A little break on Fathers day, the range was empty, it was a good couple hours. Stock up while its out there!

Good to hear is seems to be good stuff. I'm alway stocking up. Went to put some ammo my wife picked up in the can with some other ammo. I tried to dig the 20mm can with the cci standard velocity out but something was holding it down and I couldn't see what un that dark hole in the closet . Turns out it was 3 cases of shot gun shells I forgot I bought.

I need more ammo cans and a new location to store ammo that's cool with a concrete floor my floor in the house is sagging to where the ammo is stored. A ball will roll today the ammo from every room. The kitchen is the worst

I am new to 10-22 rifles. Got model 31166:this month. Trigger is 6 3/4 pounds and spongy. Ordered a Timney. Mounted a Leupold 2x7. At 25 yds it shoots nearly one hole 10-shot groups. Moving to 50 and 100once Timney arrives. Looking forward to easier bolt and magazine releases. Rugar could I prove these problems at almost no cost to them. Lawyers must be loved.

I picked up one of the 325 boxes of auto match a few years ago just to see if my guns liked them and was pleasantly surprised at the price point. My go to for hunting is the mini mag and I really like the mini mag segmented. I let the air out of two yotes during our squirrel opener a few years back and was super pleased with the terminal performance. Back to the auto match it is a great value.

I did the drop in Ruger BX trigger group. It's between 2.5 and 2 3/4 # I also modified the bolt hold open plate, I just tug bolt a little to snap closed instead of trying to manipulate the tiny lever. Added an extended mag release, nested in a Houge stock tipped it with a flash hider to protect muzzle. My next Ruger is getting either the folding stock or the M1 lookalike stock.

The Automatch has changed from the older style box. The brass is bright, bullets are clean coated but not waxy at all. 6, 325 round boxes fit nice and snug in a 30 cal ammo box.

Can't hardly go wrong at that price point. Shot about 200 or so out of the box today, no misfires, duds or light loads.

I am not sure why they don't.

I have one with this https://shopruger.com/10_22-Extended-Mag-Latch-Release/productinfo/90598/

and one like this , this one is too easy to hit when hunting but good for competition stuff https://www.midwayusa.com/product/1500160459

when I get a new one I make the cut in the bolt hold open link to make it let go when the bolt is pulled back and released you can make the cut with a chainsaw round file

it is a lot of going through and just cleaning and lubing with dry lube

there is definitely room for improvement , but there is real room for improvement in the sights also , but as far as Irons go they aren't to bad at 25 and 50 yards at 75 you have to cover the whole target with the front sight

if you enjoy Irons Techsight are the way to go on a Ruger 10/22 https://www.tech-sights.com/ruger-products/
