Your favorite skunk bait ?

What is all you trapper's favorite skunk bait
when live trapping nuisance skunks ?

Strawberry sugar wafer cookies , I get whatever brand they have at the dollar store. Added benefit , just the right size to slip them through the top of the cage mesh without having to open the door of the trap.

Jumpins Cragar you gonna give them skunks a heart attack!

Dollar store dumpster dive for those sweets cause most are stale dated and pitched,

all the money you save you can have enough to travel up to Boco place and continue talking about the War of 1812 topic

second choice is potato chips or cheezes, but still dumpster diving for them

But depends on what else is around. Cat food in pvc tube traps has netted me the most.
With no off target catches other than 2 possums in 12 years

Skunks love popcorn

Sardines and oil trail,with a small open bottle of beaver castor and anise under the cage.

Summertime I like, Banana pudding cups, followed by greasy potato chips, then on to the sweets.

Chicken wing bones, never fail.

Forget the skunks, next thing I am going to be eating more food than I should just reading through the bait list.

I use alot of marshmallows in feral cat areas, unless they are part of the job.
Then I like pretty rotten bait with bacon grease mixed in.

Caught hundreds of nuisance skunks with just cat food for bait.

Cheetos!! Not jalapeno or flaming hot, just regular.

When available Mcd's wrapper of anything

Small marshmallows, cheap cereal (sweeter the better), catfood (wet or dry) any one of those with a shot of fish oil for a trailing scent.

I like having bait I can snack on if I get peckish.

Grape jelly sandwich.

I use any left over commercial trapping bait I have left over from the prior year.

Bob Jameson’s Peaches ‘n Cream smeared on a marshmallow hung from a wire in the back of a cage. Generic Cheetos to trail them in.

My go to bait is peanut butter and Cheezit crackers. Jameson's Peaches and Cream is also excellent.

Avoid peanut butter. Squirrels love it.
