Best all beef Hot dog??

Who makes the best??
i can only eat the cheap ones when at the circus.... must be the smell of elephant poo that makes em edible!!!

Haven't ate any nationally distributed meat for years.

Koegel's are probably my favorite. I don't know if they are all beef or not. But dang, they're good. I like their Dinner Franks and their Frankfurters the best.

Sam's club sells a great Dog, same one they sell at the snack stand. $1.50 for the dog and a soda, another Buck get's you a cup of Yogurt ice cream, when dumped into that cup with root beer.....All for $2.50. YUM-YUM.

Only venison hot dogs here.

I mostly eat venison hot dogs but for commercial dogs you can't beat sahlens or zweigles. But they aren't all beef dogs. I'm not sure if there is a all beef dog that is any more than mildly edible.

Johnsonville in Sheboygan County makes several different hot dogs in addition to their brats and sausage. There is an outlet store near us with many products that are not 2nds but product that is not in the stores. They make a very good hot dog and when we go we buy 5lbs. at a time. They are big hot dogs and have a very good flavor and texture.

Well, you aren't so awful far away. The best hotdogs I have ever found were made at the Creighton Locker in Creighton, NE. They are a bit pricey, but they bring new meaning to "tube steak"!

This is an ongoing point of contention at our house. I don't care for the beef dogs at all and wife can't stand the chicken/pork ones.

The Mennonite stores up here carry JFM products. Can't say I've had their hot dogs, but the bologna and bacon are very good

I personally like the cheap, mixed meat hot dogs best as hot dogs. Most butcher shops, that do custom butchering, make good beef "hot dogs", but they generally don't seem like a real hot dog to me. At some point a hot dog becomes some other sort of sausage.

This thread made me get a 16 pack of ballpark angus. Never had them-ill report back tomorrow with reviews from me and a 3 year old.

Not a big fan of hotdogs. I always liked the bratwurst and polish sausages that you can really only find at good local butchers. To me the big name brands at grocery stores just can’t compare to a good family owned butcher shop. You can’t get that type of quality on that big a scale.

Now I really crave a white hot. Thanks guys.

I'm thankful I live in an area with a huge selection of great sausage varieties. I don't have to think about what cased floor sweepings are the best. Just the thought of eating a hot dog makes my stomach do flips. I'll stick with bratwurst, kielbasa, meustripen, just about anything other than hot dogs.

I grew up in Niagara County and they called them white hots there. There was a hot dog stand called Reed's in Lockport and people came from all over the country to eat their white hots.

Yep I'm down the road in Chautauqua county and we call em white hots. Zweigles white hots are my go too when I have a craving. They also make a 50/50 package white/regular dogs

Yep, Only dog I can get my wife to eat is a Koegel's beef dog. To be honest I can choke down anything that does not have too big a bone chip in it but she keeps me in line when it comes to dogs. Took her to a Tiger's game and said you have to try this stadium dog. She was excited, took a bite and spit it out in a napkin. She thought I tricked her I thought I was right about the dog. So I ate one dog plus one missing a bit! lol

Any New York guys have a butcher that’ll make hot dogs with venison? Usually get some kielbasas and salamis but can’t find a good butcher to make venison dogs. Down in the Catskills/Hudson valley

Kogels sure got alotta votes from the michigan guys.... im going to order some as ive not seen that brand in stores..... i bought a case from our local restaurant supply.... farmland all beef.... they were expencive but im plesantly supprised they are good//// gotta roast a dog on the fire for the 4th

For the Koegel’s lovers which do you prefer, Coney’s or Vienna’s ?

My preference is always a natural casing hot dog but if I have to go skinless(these are not available in southern Illinois) then I choose either Nathan’s or Ball Park beef dogs.

When it comes to summer sausage prefer Johnsonville’s garlic.

No but they have 70 items that are not for sale in most markets or stores. I don't know how many types of hotdogs they make, we have been buying the larger ones with some mild spices.

When we lived in Northern Wisconsin we would buy Johnsonvilles or Chermake natural casing wieners. All the stores up there carried the good stuff. Down here they don’t know what the “good stuff” is.
