Something I keep learning is

Just because something looks easy dosent mean it is. Can't tell you how many times in my life I was doing something one way to see someone doing it another way and go " well heck that's easy !" Only to try to do it, to the level they do. Or to try and peel back some layers to understand the "why" only to be slapped with so much extra stuff I need to know that is not even funny.

It's been every thing from trapping where it starts out " o yeah all I gotta do is to catch all the coon I want is some sardine in a cage to where it's late saeson and your trying to catch more then 10 and your scratching you head like " o so Mississippi coon arnt like Iowa coon and can really give two craps about a DP filled will deer corn.... How am I supposed to catch them in numbers here ???"

To welding where I I though since I learned how to welding with flux I could do anytime a mig then I get on a mig and I'm just here like " why do my welds look like bird crap ? Wheres the penetration? What's all this black soot all over my weld ? "

Hunting hogs with night vision was supposed to be a breeze! Until I learned I knew nothing about stalking at night actually working the wind, scouting the terrain properly ,hog behavior. Yeah the first stupid little piglets where easy enough then I tired to bump up to pressured hogs and that was a new ball game.

Double Door Cages where supposed to just make critters run though ! I thought that till I made a few and put camera on them then I realized " yeaaaah mabye there alot more to this then just slapping an extra door on a cage.

And heck now it's shooting with this front rest and rear bag. Saw those guys doing this with those fancy f class rifles and I said " Heck ! That's gotta make life a dream ! I need one of them, it'll almost be cheating!" Now that I have one and a nice big power scope and all that instead of my usual bipod and sand sock I'm here like " O that's why their guns are made like that, what why they have super light triggers ! Holy crap cant really is important " Honestly over here kinda missing my bipod and sand sock

Moral of the story, the easy lookin way is always easy till you try and be good at it.

You will find out from here on out there are ALWAYS lessons to be lernt

What I find out nearly day is : pick any subject and no matter how much I know about it , the amount that I do not know about it is much more . We have 2 eyes and 2 ears but only one mouth .I think that is so we see and listen more than we talk Or at least that is the way we should be

Then there is "jack of all trades.....master of none". I'd guess there are more jacks than masters.

Then there is the old saying........"if you are green you are growing..........turn ripe and what happens next is rot"

Point being......never stop learning.

At least you're learning. It's when I think I got it all under control that something reminds me, usually in bad way, that I really don't.

The old Baymen had a saying, "the more you think you know, the more you learn you don't know nothing"..

Those 20 minute jobs can take all day long.

Even in my line of work doing underground utility pipe there is always more to learn and I have over 13 years of experience in it. Biggest thing that aggravated me when working new help was the ones who were fresh into it but somehow knew more than I did. Had a kid who’s previous job was cashier at dollar general store. He acted like he could run every piece of equipment on the job regardless of the fact he had never even been on one before.

Repetition makes everything look easy and both the mind and body have memory of movement. Add visualization and it comes without conscious thought and becomes a part of you.
