job. Doctored 7 so far this morning. And I'm sweat more than my horse. More to go. Got kicked in the knee and run over by an upset momma. My body feels like I should be 20 years older. But I don't know what I'd do that I would enjoy more....[Linked Image]

Foot rot and pink eye. As hot as we are and as dry as we are getting it wouldn't surprise me if we started see some dust pneumonia in the future though.

I take on a new one every other year but takes about a year for them to stop bucking and figure out there job so u can get some work out of them. Lol but in seriousness not a whole lot of younger people real want the real life of cowboying.

Go to a chiropractor they can knock off those 20 extra years faster, safer and better then any pill can is what I have experienced.

And the horse will give the 20 years plus back faster than the chiropractor took it out...lol

And no young kids here are interested in any kind of farm labor

Yes sir..Jerry's wondering what do you use to treat foot rot?

Sulfur drugs? And LA?

Hard to tell in that picture, how big are the calves your dealing with and how are you dealing with them . Flanking and tying , heeling and pulling down or legging them down ? I’ve not done any of that type work for over 40 years , I used to think it would be a great life .

Cathryn
LA 200

Golfball they are about 300 to 400 pounds. I neck rope them then get them on a short rope and heel them myself to pull them down. They get above about 120 pounds I don't seem to have enough wind in me any more to flank them or leg them down

Sad that you say that no young kids are interested in farm labor, I'm interested in learning every aspect of farming I can which is hard when you don't live on a farm and no one has farmed in your family for generations. Already have quite a few farmers interested, but I need to get my license first. I do understand though that most kids aren't and there are very few left.

Go after it while your young. Trying to learn it in your 40s part time while working and raising a family is tough.

Yeah, that's why I'm running a trapline now instead of when I'm 60.
