Present for the duration at the host hotel where the NTA Board Meeting is already underway. I am not involved in the meeting so I plan to swing by the fairgrounds after while and see if there is anything an old fart can do to help.

I'm here since I live in Lima. The fairgrounds are only a 15 minute drive from my apartment. Hope to see a lot of Trapperman members here this week at the convention.

Will be leaving Newark, Ohio about 7 AM ... don't know how long to get there. Will be going #161 to #33 to #196 to #117 ... probably 2.5 hours. I am coming to pick up a few small items, BUT mostly to see old friends and visit with Trapperman Friends. I will have the Trapperman badge on that I made for the 2013 NTA. White hair, black shirt and jeans and a walking cane. Stop me and introduce yourself if you see me wondering around. Will have another old friend with me that is a non-trapper.

This will most likely be my last Hoo-Rah of this kind ... so, want it to be fun.

They are calling for rain but praying for the best.

Only a couple hour drive and want to come but am recovering from Covid with my wife and dont want to take any chances of spreading it. Had since Friday and just now getting my breath back. Enjoy and everyone have safe travels to and from.

Was there yesterday with son......going again. Paul(boss) gave son an nta vendor pin(being the gent he is) and met quiet but deadly along with Mark and Miss Donna(very nice folks!).....Another trapper booster gave sal a chance to win a longspring .....flipped the quarter and asked sal to call it. He guessed heads(free trap)The guy had it setup so sal couldnt lose ......Thank You Sir. (building trappers) Thats the kind of people we have in trapping! Met some nice folks from northern indiana(dealers). The Big beaver guys from down south,,,,miss. or al. Real gentlemen and honest!!!! Looking forward to another day.

Very nice show......not huge due to gas I think but still one of the best in my book. Tomorrow being Friday could have alot more show up. Met garry,randy (computer hater)G hose....nice guy...the nta was awesome for the kids. Recruiting trappers. So were dealers passing stuff out to the kids also....Way to go guys!!!! Paul( boss ) was so good to sal and I.....try his salmon cheese ball . Sal should been calling him grandpa Paul the way he treated the kid. Thanks for that!!!!

5 hours to go through St Ignace to the south side of Mackinaw City. Ended up being in my car from 9 am until midnight. Long day but I made it!

Will be back again today. Sal is hooked!!! This is the most I ever felt at a NTA convention like we are all family,and I have been attending for 30 yrs give or take. Just a few shots from yesterday. Kids cave was awesome and recruiting trappers!!! All involved were Professionals at keeping kids interest!!!

More of what the dealers and Nta do for the kids plus Nta membership for a year. They also had the kids help make the release sticks etc...free traps,,and much from you know who.

Nope... Just me. I still had mine from 2013, (of course, I had created them).

It was a bit of chore for me at times, with my almost wore out body, but did get to meet a few people from this site. Some I had met before, and some for the first time. It took less time to get there that I had expected. So less time on road meant more time to chat and visit.

Let me see if I can remember everyone that I saw and talked with, now don't be offended if I don't get your name on here: Paul "the Boss", was quite accommodating and provided chairs for 2 old men to sit and chat with him. That is always a pleasure. Then spent some time talking with "Rev Mark", Mark June, he is a great host and very enlightening. Met "SniperB", West River Rogue (Steve and his son, "Computer Hater" Randy, Talked with Jon Hughes from OSTA and informed him that we are cousins. Jon doesn't use computers, but got his contact info so can spend some time later filling him in on our family connection and some of his historical family's past, which he has never been enlightened. Spent quite a bit of time sitting talking with Mark Steck of Dakota Line exchanging ideas and info. Mark holds the publishing rights to my "Muskrats" book. Spent some time with Shawn and the others at F & T, gathering up my order. Chatted briefly with "Ack" Tim Ackerman, complimenting him and his crew for the AWESOME Job they did creating the Demo Venue. The best I have ever seen. I also talked with Mike Wilhite from Trappers Post magazine, Mitch Cox of Fur, Fish and Game, and Chris from Trapper magazine. There are a couple more that I can't remember their name or handles, and I apologize for that.

The day was beautiful, the trip was easy. The time I spent there was very rewarding. My special thanks goes out to Fred Pryor, my friend, for being my driver to get me there and home. Although Fred is not a trapper he enjoys learning about many different things and I have been showing him "the ways of the trapper and trapping".

There was a nice crowd here today. It's way better than I expected.

I've been to two NTA conventions; one in Harrisburg PA and the other in Owatonna MN. Really enjoyed both of them.

I really wish they weren't all so far away, and I also wish the NTA conventions weren't located where it is so hot and humid. I've spent the last six week in 45-55 degree temps and low humidity. High temps and humidity about kill me.

Not sure why my earlier reply was removed. I guess I’ll re phrase it. More people need to be involved with the meetings and the NTA leadership. Period. End of story.

We will be packing up around noon to head south

Plan to come to next years NTA National Convention in Escanaba MI. July 27-29. “The Last Alaskans” are going to be there. The host hotel is the Island Resort and Casino. Plan to make a vacation out of it. Go fishing, golfing or just exploring. Be prepared, the air is clean and the people are friendly!

I'm hoping to come out there next year for my first ever NTA, hopefully, that hope comes true, thanks for the info so that I can do some more research.
