A lil' trivia for ya :) - 08/03/22 06:20 PM

Without googlin' round, do any of you recall this chaps first name on the series ?
I'm sure you will recognize him from the photo.
I didn't know it.
No cheatin' now whistle

Bobby Dan Davis Blocker was born in De Kalb, Bowie County, Texas. Blocker was drafted into the United States Army during the Korean War. He had basic training at Fort Polk, Louisiana and served as an infantry sergeant in F Company, 2nd Battalion, 179th Infantry Regiment, 45th Infantry Division in Korea, from December 1951 to August 1952.
On the TV show “Bonanza,” Bobby changed his name to Dan Blocker played the large but affable "???????" “Hoss” Cartwright. At 6’4” and 320 pounds, and by all accounts “the most likable cast member” on the show, Blocker fit the part perfectly.

I grew up watching that show and without Hoss it wouldn't have been the same. Hats off to a great American!

Hoss, remember that big horse they had him ride on the show ? My father always said he needed a good stout, thick boned horse that could carry him over hill and dale easily.

I was fortunate enough to have had dinner with Dan a couple times in the early 1970's He was a golf buddy of my cousin's. My mom was head over heels in love with him laugh

A very nice guy. While I was in the hospital in Japan I recall watching Bonanza with dubbed in Japanese. What a hoot seeing Hoss speaking Japanese .

OK, pay close attention to the OP.
We are looking for his first name on the series. His nickname was Hoss.
Cool reflections, BTW.

Also think his horses name was Chub. Always liked Lorne Greene's horse and fancy saddle and trim.
