Billy Dorris started Ouachita River Valley Trading Post and had a line of bait and lure he made and sold. He also bought fur. He passed away this afternoon.

Billy was a friend of mine also. I knew him before he started making and selling lure. He was a salesman. He was the Schwan sales man of the year once. Not for AR, for the US. I spoke to him a lot over the years. He was a good one.

Ouachita River Valley Trading Post, he sold the lure making business about a month ago, and it kept the same name.

Been a couple years since I talked with Billy. We used to talk all the time. He was a salesman for sure, had the gift of gab, I call it! Never got to shake his hand, but felt like I knew him well. May he rest in peace!

I think Billy's gift maybe went beyond gab. He always had something in the works.
