Opening day dove season

Dove season comes in tomorrow at 11am Going to go shoot and decided to dig out my 870 wing master. Bought it 46 years ago when I was 13 100 bucks N I B ! Bet I killed a tractor trailer load of squirrels with it growing up Of course carrying it in the middle of receiver took the bluing off it .
Haven’t shot it in probly 10 years because I use my mossberge turkey barrel with modified screw in

I keep going over to check The Girl Next Door's dove field, but when I get back, I can't recall whether she had any doves.

Or even any sunflowers.

Been over there at least a dozen times.

My mind must be elsewhere...

This will be my first time and will be using a dozen full bodies, 2 mojos and 4 flickers.

got 1 mojo . That's all you need in my opinion . But usually takes about 1-2 hrs and i'm done. 11 am is a little lull in flying but first day they are stupid...

Hope it works for you but you spent a lot of unnecessary money. For our doves. 1 mojo and they all stop (or try ) and land beside it.

Generally decoys are the first to get shot, lol. Dove are like ducks, either you’re where they want to be or you’re not. Honestly I’ve seen guys use them and they generally repel dove more than help down here.

Me and my trusty 1100 20ga will be out. Not super excited as the field I plan to hunt doesn't have a lot of birds yet. The 4-6 acres worth of plots on the 14,000 acre public area will be over run so quit doing that on opening morning a few years back when it got super stupid.

We’re burning our millet today. We won’t shoot that field until next weekend. Not sure where I’ll be this long weekend. No one wanted to shoot due to the GA vs Oregon game, lol.

Standing knee deep in empty shells with maybe enough for 2 sandwiches you know you’re dove hunting.

That tells me y’all need more bait, lol. Dove shoots should be like a self defense shooting…so many coming at you that you can’t keep your gun loaded!

Yep our field is doing good.lots of birds coming in.should be good if we can hold em till saturday.start at daylight and be done before it gets to hot.then head back to camp and watch the hogs game

The mojos and flickers we use for teal already.... no extra money spent. On public land with alot of people in the same field, I bet we don't have as many mojos as some of the other hunters that are more serious about it.

Get em. Love a gun that’s been hunted and seen days afield. They always are the most interesting.
