When I was an undergrad in college, my girlfriend and I were in what most everyone on campus at UD called the Dirty Krogers, because of the bare foot, shirtless, smoking in the store, strung out locals. She kept leaving her purse in our cart and walking off to look at groceries. I told her she needed to keep her purse with her or it would get stolen. She got mad and said nobody was going to steal her purse. I told her again, that someone would and she needed to carry it and she said "No!".
About 2 minutes later an old man stole her purse. He came down the aisle, watching my girlfriend, who was at the opposite from where he came in and from me. He let go of his cart next to ours. He then grabbed our cart and pushed it around the end cap and grabbed her purse, just as I grabbed his shoulder and said "That's our Cart!". He dropped the purse back in the cart and fled the store, without saying a word.
She was a genius, who only once got a less than perfect 4.0 and had the common sense of a turnip.
