What y'all folks recommend for cable cutters? Need to place an order shortly. Season is approaching.

check the snap-on truck, thats where I got mine. they are exactly like this only snap-on brand, guaranteed for life

The kobalt mini blot cutter do AMAZING cutting any cable 1/8" and under and theri only like $25 at lowes

Unless your doing hundreds of cuts the s hook tool works fine.

Felco C-9 and C-7 are the ones you need.

Cool. I was gonna buy a pair too until I saw that pic. All I know is, if they aren’t rated for steel, they wont make very many nice cuts.
Guy at work used a set of Milwaukee cutter jaws for his press that were for copper/aluminum only to cut ACSR. 1 cut and they’re shot…lol. The ones for steel/copper/aluminum look the same, but they ain’t!

If they are for on the line use the mid grade ones at Fnt. If you’re only going to use them in the shop get the highest grade ones. They are really nice but not worth the rust or loosing them in the line.

Hit Wire Rope Cutters

You can probably find them cheaper at a trap supply dealer. These are the ones that Newt Sterling uses and sells. I got mine from Newt several years ago and they work very well and about 1/2 the cost of the Felco.

Watch Ebay, I got a used set of C7's on there for around 35-40 dollars been 5 or 6 years ago so cant remember exactly.
