Pictures- Solitary Sandpipers

I meant to share some pictures with you all over the summer, but I didn't spend as much time with my camera as I'd planned. I have some more I can share, but this is by far my favorite set. These are Solitary Sandpipers that made a visit here a couple weeks ago. They were here for several days and allowed me some excellent photo opportunities. This particular day was very calm and the reflections on the water were beautiful. I spent a couple hours laying on the edge of the pond watching them as they ate mostly blood worms, but I saw one eat a wasp and I believe snail or frog eggs. They are small birds that could be easily overlooked, but it was fun getting to know them a little. Hope you enjoy the pictures.

That third pic down is unbelievable. Great capture at just the right time.

That and the last one are my 2 favorites but there are no culls in the herd. They are all outstanding.

Those are some fine looking shoots of birds that many people would just take for granted I enjoy the numerous small birds that are part of our environment but often get ignored by most people. I have been entertained many times by small birds while sitting in my tree stand while deer hunting Keep posting your camera efforts for others to see We really do enjoy the beauty of nature
