I met Rick Perry, guess what he said?

I met Rick Perry, guess what he said? - 09/25/22 11:51 PM

I met former Gov of TX and one time presidential candidate Rick Perry at a church picnic today. I told him I would have loved to see him serve 2 terms as president and he thanked me then ask: who would you have elected after I got done?

I said probably Dr. Ben Carson and then he spent a few minutes telling me he agreed 100%. He told us about how much time he was able to spend with Dr. Carson and let us know that in his opinion Carson would have been every bit as good as Ronald Reagan!

IDK how you'd get a better endorsement than that. Had to share.

Pretty cool!
I remember the media doing their absolute best to destroy Rick Perry. That was enough to tell me he had to be a good guy.

I liked him and Ben Carson. I think both would have done well

They tried the same with Carson and like you that is about all I needed to know. They made him out to be slow which is ridiculous because he is a brain surgeon.

It wasn't a long conversation but I thought I had a good one today.

I always liked Rick a lot and thought the same of Ben. I bet America would be a much happier place if either sat in office today.

Carson had my vote.

But I wonder if the reason we eventually got Trump was the media destruction of so many other well qualified candidates like Perry and Carson. That it finally took a Trump that wouldn't play by gentleman's rules to break through.

But I don't see Perry or Carson as down in the mud type fighters.

Well you will be pleased to know he is now 72 but looks like he is in his 50s. Cool guy to meet in person

My last post was for Outlaw 99 but I agree with you Warrior. Neither reminded me of the old Nazareth Hair of the Dog song and Trump did.

Haha exactly! When Trump would lash out at the media who would lie about him I would hear the lyrics tho.

Carson supported gun control early on, but shifted over time.
Whether that was sincere and due to.a better grasp of the issue, or merely a political correction remains to be seen.

He's certainly a success story.

Ben Carson is what I believe to be the most sincere person ever to run for President.

Rush always said conservatism was the evolution of mankind. Considering that, anyone moving from a leftist point of view to the right shows advancement I say. I also took Carson to be sincere in all of his viewpoints
