Hobbie -
That photo brings me warm, fuzzy feelings. We ought to have a long-running thread of trapperman members posting various photos of "first fires", especially as the season progresses and the chill takes over.
Come on guys. Show me more glowing stoves (or campfires)!

Is that thing worth the money? I have a small backpacking stove designed like that and it is awesome. I can boil water in less than 5 minutes with just a stick or two. Those fireplaces seem real expensive but the wood gas burning and no smoke would be neat. I'm going to maybe try to build my own with some drain pipes.

Wife told me last week not yet. It was cool enough in the house for me to fire the boiler. She called me while I'm away at work and said this weekend we would need it becuse Temps would be in the 30s.
The cabins I book for KY youth are booked and I figured ok fine we will just camp 4 days or so. Then I see Temps in the 30s. May not work out to well when you haven't camped much in years and are low on gear. The boys won't sit long hunting it they are cold allready from camping. Plus they won't have a place to warm up.
Maybe I need to look into one of the tents that can take a wood stove. I have a 16xq6 military tent but that's wasy to much to set up for a few days of camping.
