I don’t see where the Governor said that officials would shoot looters. I’m guessing any home or business owner who would shoot a someone looting would be charged with a crime.

But charging the owner should be a higher crime, IMO.

Under current conditions I imagine most right minded prosecutors may not be willing to max out the charge.

Not sure about that. Florida has a castle law. Believe it is legal to shoot anyone breaking into your home.

It is ridiculous that a law is even needed for that. No one should ever be prosecuted for killing a home intruder.

I don't remember who the governor was but during one of the race riots years ago, it may have been the Rodney King crap, he had called out the National Guard and ordered them to use live ammunition and shoot rioters on sight. He gave them an amount of time to clear out, but it ended the rioting in Miami immediately.

Of course he was voted out in the next election or forced to resign. It might have been Bob Graham but I just can't remember but do recall it happening.

Florida has a good castle doctrine law, so a home owner wouldn't be committing a crime. I don't know about a business owner.
