He called me from th pass at the top of the mountains this morning.

He was heading to set beaver traps.

He loets me know where he's going to be setring traps in case he runs into trouble .ill know where to send his nephew to start looking for him.

Thouyhe started on marten October first?

Are these yotes saleable? Regular fur market, found a different market, etc.?

He had to go with a new landowner Saturday.... to see where his land boundaries were... so he didn't set any sat but today he will hit the spots he sets for marten up high...10,000 plus feet... but his heavy hitting marten trapping starts about the 9th or 10th..depending on weather.


He's setting some yote and fox sets today too but he's trying to hit all his high beaver spots today and tomorrow in case he gets snow up high.

If he waits too long he might not be able to get all the ponds set cause they might freeze over or the snow might get to deep to get to them.

The marten down low... nothing under 7000 ft...will be there ..and the access will still be there..when he gets to them.

Martentrapper. He has a market for coyotes with the feet. The guy takes all his yotes..western and easterns.. for very good money.

He makes hats and things out of them.

I don't know the fur market value...they grade semis and heavies....he's been selling them with the feet for a year or 2 now.

He doesn't trap for .."unsellable" fur

If Jerry's near Lander or Dubois the weather looks good through Sunday no real precipitation in the forecast.

No but he says he's good through Sat. Then who knows
