Do many vendors leave early on Saturday's?

Yes those who travel from far away are usually getting packed up by 3 on Saturday

Not near as many that left late Saturday when the convention ended on Sunday. Ending the convention on Saturday seems to keep the vendors in place until closing time.

Two years ago at the PA convention I went to the general meeting on Saturday afternoon, I am thinking the start time for the meeting was 1:00 PM. The meeting adjourned a little before 3:00 PM and I could not believe how many tailgaters and inside vendors left during that time. The tailgate section was really deserted. This year I attended on Thursday and Friday, that worked for me.

Thanks Skye- I found a footprint of the fair layout online- just to compare and contrast to Marshfield layout:

That livestock pavilion being crooked makes my brain hurt. Looks like a nice place. Hopefully the camping is as nice.

In addition- putting the Sheep that close to the Carnies is a Moral Hazard during Fair Week

Julie is already taking reservations for indoor vendors and tailgating spots. Get 'em while they're hot.

It helps keep them away from your 12 year old daughter and her friends.

They last couple of carnivals I went to didn't even have any carnies. They had all been replaced by south americans.

I have been working demos for the WTA for 17 years and 3 nationals. When I first started most of the bigger name vendors wanted Saturday's due to the larger crowds It started to shift about 6-7 years ago when many vendors or dealers had smaller crews due to lower sales and they wanted to be early. The last several years the bigger names want Fridays or early Saturday due to many vendors and attendees leave after Saturday lunch. One can try to off set that by having a bigger name later but it does not seem to work well. I line up demo people on Saturday afternoons and tell them the crowd thins a lot so they know what is going on.
At our two day WTA the older trappers are there on Friday. (shcool is on) but also the average age and years of experience of attendees is a lot lower on Saturday so one can plan and arrange accordingly.

Good question. I'm stumped. Marshfield was fantastic and centrally located.

We outgrew the venue plus that location’s committee had too many hoops to jump through, didn’t want us to use certain buildings even though we were paying for the entire venue, etc. Just didn’t have the space needed for all the crowd, vendors, events, and whatnot that we ideally wanted so it was time for a change, just like when we outgrew Neillsville and had to move to Marshfield 20 years ago.

That makes sense. Thanks Skye.

Out growing the Marshfield grounds? I don't think so. There's more to It then that.

That's what I thought too Beav.
