Elon Musk/ Twitter done deal - 10/27/22 12:23 AM

I have it from a good source that Musk will take over ownership of Twitter next week. Looking forward to how he shakes up the existing staff there.

Re: Elon Musk/ Twitter done deal - 10/27/22 12:29 AM

He won’t have to do much as many have vowed to leave if he becomes the owner. lol

In before Biden Admin takes Twitter and Starlink as critical National Security infrastructure.
Don't laugh, it's been mentioned....

He is supposed to close the deal by Friday, who's saying next week?

Re: Elon Musk/ Twitter done deal - 10/27/22 12:54 AM

Quite the discussion among content creators on YouTube.

Apparently Musk is on record saying 75% of the employees will be let go.

The employees have countered with an open letter list of demands. Needless to say the list is laughable.

I fully expect some form of sabotage before Musk can take full control which may be as soon as Friday.

The full text of the open letter.

Elon Musk’s plan to lay off 75% of Twitter workers will hurt Twitter’s ability to serve the public conversation. A threat of this magnitude is reckless, undermines our users’ and customers’ trust in our platform, and is a transparent act of worker intimidation.

Twitter has significant effects on societies and communities across the globe. As we speak, Twitter is helping to uplift independent journalism in Ukraine and Iran, as well as powering social movements around the world.

A threat to workers at Twitter is a threat to Twitter’s future. These threats have an impact on us as workers and demonstrate a fundamental disconnect with the realities of operating Twitter. They threaten our livelihoods, access to essential healthcare, and the ability for visa holders to stay in the country they work in. We cannot do our work in an environment of constant harassment and threats. Without our work, there is no Twitter.

We, the workers at Twitter, will not be intimidated. We recommit to supporting the communities, organizations, and businesses who rely on Twitter. We will not stop serving the public conversation.

We call on Twitter management and Elon Musk to cease these negligent layoff threats. As workers, we deserve concrete commitments so we can continue to preserve the integrity of our platform.

We demand of current and future leadership:

Respect: We demand leadership to respect the platform and the workers who maintain it by committing to preserving the current headcount.

Safety: We demand that leadership does not discriminate against workers on the basis of their race, gender, disability, sexual orientation, or political beliefs. We also demand safety for workers on visas, who will be forced to leave the country they work in if they are laid off.

Protection: We demand Elon Musk explicitly commit to preserve our benefits, those both listed in the merger agreement and not (e.g. remote work). We demand leadership to establish and ensure fair severance policies for all workers before and after any change in ownership.

Dignity: We demand transparent, prompt and thoughtful communication around our working conditions. We demand to be treated with dignity, and to not be treated as mere pawns in a game played by billionaires.

Sincerely,

Twitter workers

Do they demand blankets and binkies too?

Welcome to the real world.

I don’t think I’ve ever read so many “demands” in one request. I’m glad I’m not buying it, I’d fire every single one of them and make them interview for jobs all over again. I’m sure if he’s put out that 75% will be let go, he already has alternate plans.

Two word reply is what that deserves.

You're fired is the family friendly one.

I've got a feeling they just might find out real quick what the real world is like.

No safe spaces, tantrums get you nothing.

I like how the twitter employees in their letter said “We demand…. “ and also they will not be intimidated. I never knew you can demand your boss to do something. I thought the bosses do the demands. I wonder how they are not going to be intimidated when they are fired. Nothing like upsetting Elon Musk.

Re: Elon Musk/ Twitter done deal - 10/27/22 03:31 AM

Unfortunately, most of the fired Twitter employees will quickly fine new jobs promoting yet even more democrat propaganda.

Every single person who agreed with that, would be fired with a non recommendation to future employers. There is a difference between concern and just bizarre blatent authority undermining attempts, especially when its a new boss coming in. If you find yourself unable to fully commit to the new persons plans, you should leave and find a place that better fits with your goals.

One would think spotting Twitter on a resume would be a red flag in the future.

It would be instant round file for me.

Re: Elon Musk/ Twitter done deal - 10/27/22 07:38 AM

I guess they made management's job easier, no need for performance evaluations, they (the workers) provide a first to go list. Welcome to the working world. When I was young and stupid, I had a senior boss that had a saying which he often used with the young staff, it ain't appropriate for Tman. But went something like: If you don't like it, you can always leave ... something about no hooks and a rearview ... and not letting the door hitting you on the way out! It let you know you were overstepping and made you think!

According to Twitter’s financial statements, they had a net income loss of 221 million dollars in 2021 and a net income loss of 1.14 billion dollars in 2020. Now the present employees are demanding that Musk continue the same old business practices of their woke ideas and procedures that caused these massive losses. I am sure Musk will listen to these Socialists employees and continue with their wokeness. Of course I am being sarcastic. No wonder the liberals are scared of this takeover.

Daddy Musk is already cleaning house. He fired the entire executive team and will be making big changes.

Re: Elon Musk/ Twitter done deal - 10/28/22 10:05 PM

I'm rarely on Twitter. Usually to go read up on something or other in the news but just a few minutes of reading the constant leftist replies has me mad and disgusted enough to get the next shooting match started. Seriously, you just don't know the evil that exists until you read twitter.

Re: Elon Musk/ Twitter done deal - 10/28/22 10:16 PM

Just for anyone that uses twitter or wanting to, use TweetDeck(tweetdeck.twitter.com). Its a lot easier to use. Tweets come in chronological order with it, and you can set columns so you can watch certain users or hashtags. (Hint on following hashtags... If the tag can possibly have an innuendo, make sure you have to scroll right because sometimes things come across them that isnt safe for school/work.)
