Ya might get a third of it after taxes. They just showed what you could get in different parts of the country, some places more, some less depending on state and local taxes.
None of them were you getting 50%. If you live in Washington D.C. for examp!e, you'd get 270,000,000 of the billion.

Thanks for pointing this out. So when I win besides changing my name legally and or claiming it as an llc or trust I also may need to resurch state taxes. I may need to establish residency in a different state before claiming the prize.
One thing is for sure once it's claimed Rivers dad won't have to be considered about financial issues or going to work. He will be able to concentrate on his family.

All lotteries are is a tax on the poor and people who are bad at math.
Gubbemints should be ashamed of themselves.
I wonder how many folks living paycheck to paycheck, spent a paycheck on tickets? Wasn't there a good discourse on lottery in George Orwell's 1984?
I never buy lottery tickets, and I didn't today either, but had I thought of it I might have thrown 5 bucks at it. I know the chances are astronomical.. but astronomical isn't impossible.

I don't play it to win I play it for fun. It's the what if factor. Much more entertaining for $2 than going to watch a movie not worth seeing for over $12 and wasting a little more than an hour of your life .
I enjoy thinking about what I would do with it and how the best way to positive change as many life's as possible with it.

If someone wins on here, could you please crank start the fur industry for the rest of us pretty please and thank you.
You'd have 10% of what the Chinese bring and 100% more than what the Russians and Ukrainians have, so kick start us!

300,000,000 divided by 200,000 coyotes = $1500 coyotes!
Yessiree bobbie!
Oh and I was aware about Halsey Gary. I was headed out north of Thereford to trap a ranch I haven't been on in 5 years now, but our pastor's wife was diagnosed recently with grave cancer, so I'm lending a hand here instead of laying steel at present = the priorities we make in this life.
My rancher sent me pics of the region that burned.
I'll hope to see him next fur season.
I enjoy those Sand Hills!
Blessings,
Mark

It’s unfortunate that our government has stooped to defrauding the lowest common denominator of the American public with the lottery. It is funded mostly, by people who can ill afford to play. Sad commentary on the treatment of the lower caste.

You better take the lump sum. If something happens to you your family isn't getting any of the rest. Invest it yourself, that's all the lottery corporation is doing.

If I win I'm going to throw a big convention for both the NTA and FTA. If any disputes between members of these fine associations occurs, I would provide the cage and the $1,000,000 prize for last man standing.

I remember reading an interesting statistic on CNBC a month or so ago about the top 1% net worth individuals in America.
Over 99% don't gamble.
So there you go.
It may be fun for some, but it's desperation for far too many.
My $20 goes for trap wax, trap dye, trap P and the other essentials in life.
Blessings,

But...I'm trying to become one of the top 1%.....then I wont buy a lottery ticket...lol
I think they should do away with these large jackpots and make a 2 million dollar cap. 1 million for taxes, 1 million for the winner. Do multiple drawings when there are no winners the first time.
Instead on one person having half a billion dollars we could have 500 millionaires. The 500 millionaires will have that money circulating back into the economy a lot faster than the one who puts most of half a billion into a bank or whatever.

im with you Mark!!
“The Lottery, with its weekly pay-out of enormous prizes, was the one public event to which the proles paid serious attention. It was probable that there were some millions of proles for whom the Lottery was the principal if not the only reason for remaining alive. It was their delight, their folly, their anodyne, their intellectual stimulant. Where the Lottery was concerned, even people who could barely read and write seemed capable of intricate calculations and staggering feats of memory. There was a whole tribe of men who made their living simply by selling systems, forecasts, and lucky amulets. Winston had nothing to do with the Lottery, which was managed by the Ministry of Plenty, but he was aware (indeed everyone in the party was aware) that the prizes were largely imaginary. Only small sums were actually paid out, the winners of the big prizes being nonexistent persons.”
George Orwell, 1984
The novel 1884 was published in 1949. Long before any government lotteries existed. Everybody ought to read Atlas Shrugged and 1984.
