Dad got a great buck! - 11/17/22 02:04 AM
Well i ju
st got back from our hunting cabin in Ohio and man did we have a great hunt. With 4 kids under 12 and coaching sports its hard for me to get away for very long these days. But we left out Sunday morning and headed up to hunt for a couple days. We got up there around 1 and changed quick and headed out. I was clearing some limbs away to start up a tree with my climbing stand when a deer blew, i turned around just to see a giant running away. I got settled in and around 2:30 dad called me(he refuses to learn to text) to tell me a huge buck had a doe pinned down 100 yds away. Well 30 mins later he called back to tell me he had just shot the buck. Crazy first 2 hrs of a hunt. I climbed down to go help him track and after 300 yds of decent blood and the buck laying down twice we decided to back out til morning. The next morning we found him about another 150 yds away. He had hit him perfect but the broadhead hit a rib and turned thru the guts and came out into his back leg. Unfortunately the coyotes feasted on his hams. He was a old buck that we had history with. He scored 159" as a 8pt. I took a picture of the rack sitting on a 140" 10pt mount in the cabin just for comparison. Dads 65yr old and its his best buck to date
