Media Accountability - 11/17/22 09:53 AM

Other than turning them off is there any actual accountability?

Not any more, look at what they did with Trump and how he tried to hold them accountable

HT, the people who write about "the news" have never really been "journaling" as much as they simply reflect what people are doing/saying/crafting.
When were journaling people ever accountable? And to whom should they be held to account?
The media is someone's son and daughter and so somebody raised 'em, schooled 'em, and sent them into the world to be happy and earn lots of money.
And here we are still doing the same things that gives us what we're getting.
The no accounts.

Just saw that a NEWSMAN in San Fran's NBC affiliate was suspended for DARING question on air WHY the the DOJ says the San Fran police had to enter Paul Pelosi's house during the recent " hammer attack" and San Fran police, who were THERE, said Pelosi answered the door himself, did not state or act he was in danger, and went back inside!

Can't question the narrative.

Not much hope of it. Possibly loosening up slander and libel rules so public figures can sue and win easier. I'm hoping some recent cases like the Depp/Heard, Covington Kid or the soon to be filed Rittenhouse one will give pause to the media.

Other than hitting them in the pocketbook there's not much that can be done.

This is the main reason I would have no issue whatsoever with bringing back the Code Duello.

I think that phrase is an oxymoron .The use of those two words together is not possible .In earlier days people reported the news Now the news media decides what the news is .And the bottom line is it amounts to the reporters thinking they are the news .The ratings are more important than the facts .

X2, and so is pushing their agenda. Real journalism for the most part is dead.

No, not the ratings, The SPIN.
They WILL maintain the narrative.

Remember Newt Gingrich getting cutoff for even mentioning how George Soros has been funding the progressives/ catch and release of criminals?
Producer cut him off..

Re: Media Accountability - 11/17/22 03:02 PM

There is no media accountability. Doubtful that is going too change anytime soon

A bit off track from the Op but,,,,,,,,,,,,

Twitter was days ahead of the media shedding light on the FTX scandal/crypto collapse

The missile thing in Poland was all over twitter hours before the media jumped in. The photos/type of missile/origin were known before any media even began reporting

Twitter has never been better. Citizen reporting is the future

Everyone has to sift through BS every day. It is on the news. It is at work. It is at social gatherings. It is on Tman.

If I tried to hold everyone accountable who pops off having no clue or who stretches the truth, I would not get anything else done.

Your brain can hold all of these people accountable. Hear or see the BS, process it and move on.

24 hour news and social media has made it much worse, but this is not new.

Or we could just all wait for BC to tell us what to think.

That is your problem. You are desperate for some leader or website to tell you how to think. Actually, it is one of your many problems I have gleaned on here over the years.

You really don't understand people do you? Maybe that's why you went into the shyster line of work.

You trust nobody, expect the worst from all and loyalty is a foreign concept. So you go into a business of contracts.

Methinks it reflects a flawed soul.

That's one of the reasons I prefer NewsMax to FOX. I rarely watch FOX anymore.
