I.admittedly know NOTHING about it.

One of my sons put less than $100 in Doge coin, early on.
Then it started to climb.

He sold most and paid his tuition AND bought a new shotgun, keeping about $100 worth.

Yes it went higher than when he sold, but then it crashed.
He made out pretty good, and will be the first to.tell you, it was mostly LUCK.

So some did pretty good.

You just made my point HE SOLD IT !!!!! HE DID NOT HANG ON TO IT !!!!!! Yes and some in bitcoin that bought when it was 3,000 and sold when it hit 50,000 are milionaires. Some who bought at 50,000 now can't be found !!! LOL LOL
My bashing bitcoin is when all the buzz when it went to 67,000 and I predicted it would crash (oh it did by the way) and was corrected that it was going to 100,000 and I was stupid... WELLLLL last check bitcoin was 16,000 range

Same with any stock that has gained from the smoke and mirrors jump the past 10 days . IF you bought it and you stand to gain a lot OR avoid loosing a lot SELL SELL.

oh beav no it wasn't hindsight I even told day and hour when the tide was going to change on some drops. Some surges. But I cashed out ALL my stocks so quit giving "FREE advice" Then was asked a question couple days ago so did little research and if it was me I'd sell. before Friday WED probably....

No my advice was not to buy when it was on the threshold of being regulated !!! I think my first warning was sept of 2021 Bitcoin coin and dodge ball had been around years before then. Plus it was about 50,000 at the time. companies like FTX where popping up bitcoin fans where telling jump on the train it will replace cash !!! If you don't have bitcoin then you will be broke. LOL LOL NOW MILLIONS of people are BROKE because they jumped straddle that train !!!!

One important point it discuses is having a plan for when to sell. Most folks spend a lot of time determining when to buy, but then don't give much thought about when to sell; you must have a plan otherwise you'll happily watch your investment value climb, then you'll anxiously sit by and watch it's value plummet....unless you have a plan, like DaveP's son had.

I am OK with holding on to my newer investments we made in September. Don't plan on buying and selling much or often. We need to realize that much of the money made in financials is trading so there will be movement often so it triggers sales or buys as that is how much of the money is made.

Like the jobs report. Tech alone would move the unemployment numbers But oh wait that’s right that got 2 months pay severance so they can’t apply before late January!!!

See the day I mentioned? The slide started about 10 this morning then the GOVERNMENT released jobs numbers and it trended back up Hold my beer !!

It’s called volatility!!! Nothing more!!!

The markets were mixed for the day yesterday, with the bell weather SP down a tad.

The pundits might say the job reports was better than expected at first blush but after further review the labor participation rate fell. Also "better" than expected job reports at this juncture in time give the FED more ammo to continue being hawkish.

As was pointed out by stinkypete the drop yesterday morning can easily be attributed to day to day volatility, it was barely a percent. Don't think for a second the average stock market professional is aware that severance packages are helping to keep the UE rate down.

Don't take my remarks a disagreement with your points. Fundamentally I think the market is going to see quite a bit more of a sell off.

Anyhow it was 10 below this morning, it won't be long and it will start to get cold out.
