King of the river. I wonder how many acres of feed he cleared in his obvious long life.

Being a former through the ice snare trapper all I can think of if he was a floater how much ice I would have to chip to get him out of the river. Lots of work!

More like 1920 but, yeah big beaver. Not many black and white photos in 1994.

Most all local newspapers were B/W in 1994 and still are.

Not too many slow moving vechile signs in 1920 either.
I think I have seen this photo before with some controversy to go along with it?

Be nice to know the rest of the story.
What set, and what trap .. or snare. (or caliber smile )

Well it wasn’t a snare because they were not allowed then.

Look at guys expression. Even he can't suppress the joke, standing 6 feet behind the beaver.

I saw that picture many years ago. The location said the same but I was thinking the date was in the 20's or 30's but WTH do I know?

What is he wearing on his head?

If it's real you'd need a full sheet of plywood to nail it on!

A color photo was Always hanging in the fur shed
Greg's Log cabin store fur shed. He's now quit buying fur and selling trapping gear.

so I would put that hat in the 1970's period and the slow sign had 3M reflective shine from the flash
