I got a new pair of leather soled slippers , for christmas. The soles are getting smooth and slippery. Are there good ways to overcome this. I don't want to slip and fall. I have been wondering about using a couple of spots of something , like shoe goo. Some of the guys with muc luk , type might have a recommend. I really like them , don't want to spoil them. old243

Take some coarse sandpaper and scuff them up.
It will help the shoo goo stick if you want to try that.

They make paint on rubber soles for that application. Search online. I think some are just a good contact cement with a rough medium added

I have seen some of the elders here wear socks over their mukluks on ice. Also they make a short Lap boot that has the brisket hair swirl on the bottom of the soles. Those worked good on ice.
