With all the things that break on a vehicle why doesn’t the chime break that reminds you to put on the seatbelt lol

NEVER, EVER.

They are bullet proof !!! frown

I wouldn't be surprised if disabling the seat belt
warning chime would automatically shutdown
your engine or starter.

I've scraped more hair and blood off windshields than I care to talk about. In 47 years of fixing crashed cahs

I spend enough time off-road, or on forest roads where seatbelts are a hindrance and an annoyance, to have figured out how to disable the alarms.

On any other road, mine is always on. I don't need a stupid bell to remind me. Turn the key, click the buckle.

It applies to your needs if I’m diving river breaks all day the last thing I need is a reminder to put on my seatbelt when I’m driving 50 yards to the next set at 5 MPH.

Rarely does the chime fail. Seatbelt latches can be bad and get recalled , but the chimes rarely fail.

As others have said , a lot of them can be disabled. As Nessmuck said , they are a good thing to wear , even though I hate them , I wear them. Seen plenty of gore in my day too. Think of it this way , air bags can hurt you pretty good too , seatbelts help you from getting hurt by airbags. Yes , I agree moving 50-100 feet moving off road to check traps or something sucks having the thing chime is an annoyance for sure.

They are going one step further in some vehicles. The wife's car makes you put on your seat belt before you can even shift out of park.

When I was a kid I watched a guy's head go through a windshield. Just his head was sticking out and he was screaming covered with blood. To this day it was the most awesome thing I have witnessed!!! Since that day I have never been in a car without wearing my seatbelt.

Although maybe not the average case, NOT wearing a seat belt saved my mom's life. When she hit a telephone pole, the steering wheel was driven straight back into the back of the driver's seat. Luckily, she had been tossed into the passenger seat and was unharmed. Paramedics said as soon as they saw the car they knew they'd be pulling out a dead body, cut in half by the wheel. Told her not having a seat belt on is the only thing that saved her life.
