Just found this - 07/22/23 03:02 PM

Was walking in a new foodplot I've been working on,looked down and this was laying in the dirt.
Don't know what kind but guessing it quite old.
Anyone know the brand?

Sure would be fun to hear the story on how it got there.

Thousands of years from now some archeologist will be scratching their head, they had guns and still hunted with bows, lol.

The bear heads were narrowed and not built that’s heavy

Re: Just found this - 07/22/23 04:48 PM

It could of been there since the 60's.

Re: Just found this - 07/22/23 04:59 PM

My dad used some of them back in the late 60's early 70's, pretty sure his were made by Bear.

They planned real bad unless you got them glued on perfectly.

Ben Pearson deadheads

Re: Just found this - 07/22/23 06:01 PM

Dont look like the bear arrowheads I used in the 70's. They had a slot and a little insert that made 4 cutting edges. Were not good for long shots but at 30-35 yards they worked. Deer bled out quick. When new they needed sharpened if you liked arm hair shaving sharp.

Found an arrow stuck up high in a tree once while squirrel hunting. The vanes and knock were gone as was most of the anodizing on the shaft.

Bet whoever flung it wasn't wearing RealTree/MossyOak laugh

I've watched 100s of deer walk within 20 feet of where it layed.
Purdy cool.
Looks like Ben Pearson for the win.

Doubt it.
It kinda remote. Not a place for a fella with a bad back ( cough) could get to.

It's actually purdy neat what digging up dirt can reveal.
Even in spots you never thought got touched by people.

Found an infants leather shoe once along with a small femor bone while putting in a foodplot years ago.
